In goes the free-kick and the shot comes in...and it's IN!!! MILAN HAVE SCORED!! A goal in 50 seconds for Milan... .... and it's all gone wrong in the first minute...a wretched wretched start for Liverpool.... 1-0 ... Liverpool could be stretched again....as Crespo from close range has doubled Milan's lead...Liverpool nil...AC Milan 2...and this final is over!! .... It could be 3-0 and it IS 3-0. Things going from bad to worse for Liverpool!! Milan are playing football that's out of this world. No one can live with this!!!!
A time for despondency, a time for despair. A time to mourn, a time to shed a tear. But also, a time to gird up one's loins, and put up a fight. A time to prove that the blood that flows in my veins is REALLY RED!! A time to wipe those tears dry, and proclaim to the world, that the fight has just begun.
I had thought that the day I lost the Students' Council elections by a solitary vote was a low point. I was dejected, disheartened, disillusioned, disgruntled, and any other conceivable adjectives that one can find in a reasonably good thesaurus. What hurt even more was people coming up to me and asking, "How could you lose?"
It was tough maintaining a plastic smile, and saying, "Ah, such things happen."
And today, not making it to SAPPHIRE, (the HR Association) feels worse than ever. I really like the work this society does, and I so desperately wanted to be a part of it. But apparently, they didn't think I'd add much value, and so I got the boot. There are another couple of committees I'd applied to, but I don't think I have the courage to face another rejection.
I was sitting on the terrace, despondent and close to tears, when Shubham dropped by. After listening to my tale he said, "So what!! You are a RED!! And I thought you guys never give up!"
That's true man!! RED is the colour that flows through me. And I won't give up. Like a true RED, I'll fight it out, and make sure that I win this! Losing small battles won't matter, once one wins the war.
...towards Gerrard!! Captain's goal! Still trying maybe, for the impossible to happen... 25 yards out....and IT'S IN!! IT'S IN!!! OOOOOO my word!!! Vladimir Smicer!!!! Miracles are possible... and do we have a game now!! Step up Xabi Alonso, to equalise, yes EQUALISE for Liverpool! Misses, but takes the rebound...and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE is accomplished!!! "Once a European Champion, always a European Champion!!"
Absolutely! As a real red, I don't have the right to give up. I'll live and get up, to fight another day. Perhaps, as Dickens said, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."

That's what it looks like, so far....even on Saturdays.... 😃 Tomorrow, we have a trek planned by the college...so the entire day will go...in the evening, we have interviews for one of the committees. After that, we will be studying for Monday's lectures.
Nice one... btw you'll have days when u won't get the chance to have the afternoon siesta 😉 and you'll have classes where the prof doesn't ask you to go and wash your face, but just leave :D
And Sumit, that trek was organised by us :sarcasm: not the college

Sorry, your XLANC*!! :sarcasm:
*For the ignorant, XLANC is pronounced as 'excellency' and is the adventure and nature club here.

Jai JJJAXI!! But I still have not been supplied with FIFA. Kitni galat baat hai ki bina mouse ke AoE khel-khel ke guzaara karna pad raha hai!!
HR hamen kis mod pe le aaya....ke dil kare HAYEEEE, koi yeh bataye....kya hoga!!
The last few days have gone by in an almost drunken stupor. With 2-3 hours of sleep a day, preparing for assignments and quizzes, the pace of life has suddenly picked up manifold.
After 2 am, one can spot me and my classmates, scurrying to Bishuda (the benevolent keeper of the night canteen who feeds us hunger-struck souls ) to grab some grub . And after that, life resumes at the same breackneck speed again, when it's back to work.
We had a 'surprise' quiz today. Of course, we had been expecting it for nearly a week. But I think I'll be getting around -2/15. (Yes, that's minus 2!!)
In one of the classes, we had to go prepared with a speech. Now, this prof has a unique marking scheme. He calls up one person at random from each group, and evaluates the person. That person's marks are then awarded to the whole group. So, well, today, ahem....eh....poor me... was awarded 31/100. Also, I was given a lot of 'constructive' 'feedback' about myself. :2gunfire:

Dont mention quizzes, plz...surprise quizzes r always best; atleast u dont slog it out the entire nite , just to go to the class and wonder whether the question is a question or an answer by itself
btw, juniors are rocking at the junior-senior sports meet here...we won the baddy women's, TT women's and TT Men'S..whoa, what a match it was !!...those ppl cudnt even see the ball, let alone hit it..m suggesting we get a video cam next time onwards, so that the referee can atleast see the ball in slow motion ....
PS: i hv lost my voice totally, after cheering badly for all the matches (sry, for baddy doubles, i was away)...hope we come back with the same enthu tomorw too...in the meantime, vicks ki goli lo, khich-khich door karo...

Updates from the battleground - We won the Counterstrike and AoE at the tournament (CS scoreboard was worth a million :2gunfire:)...anyways, as of now we are still 5-7 against the seniors...lets fight back tomorw.... korbo! lorbo !! jeetbo !!!

Seshadri, my friend, unfortunately, the score looks different from the seniors' perspective. They knew that we'd thrash them badly in the computer games, so they only gave us half the weightage for CS and AoE.
I think you got the motto wrong... I'm sure the seniors (:lookround:) would like to change it to korbo! lorbo! Cheatbo!
Guys, just to put things in clearer perspective, the junior-senior camaraderie is great at XL, and the last post was just my attempt at humour. So, no offence to anyone.
Had a great day today...only two lectures!! (Yes, it felt good after a week of slogging. )
Then, I got roped in along with some other batchmates to attend a session by 'The Telegraph' and make a point or two. After the session, snacks at 'Regent' were another bonus. (Of course, I'm not telling you to look out for my pic in The Telegraph tomorrow or day after.)
I barely made it in time for the Student Exchange Committee interview at 7.30 pm, thanks to a kind senior who dropped me back at breakneck speed on his bike.
Of course, the interviewers might not have taken kindly to my scruffy appearance (unshaven for 2 days ) and casual attire, but you never know. :argue:
Yes, we're trailing 7-4 in the tourney, but then tomorrow's another day.

Go, Juniors, Go!!
right said sumit, was just about to say that....super helpful seniors r the best part of the campus life here..(except for these 3 days, of course :vamp:) but then, everything is fair in love and WAR (or is it??)
missed mentioning the other 'happenings' of the day...visited to a production plant here as part of the prod-operations class...being a first-timer to a factory, had a gr8 time in understanding how things work outside the air-conditioned cubicles ....(glad to hear that Work Order Number(WON) is used here too 😉 ..atleast some IT guys wud relate to it...u-know-who?) ...as i mentioned earlier too, m njoying operations classes,.... bcoz of the faculty, of course...
had some snacks at the factory canteen.....njoyed the songs in the bus on our way back...(manan wud have njoyed it more though ;)).. got down to have a glassful of sardarji's lassi on the way, and lunch at Karnail-ji's restaurant..
dozed off in the evening, and missed my cheering responsibilities (as I kept snoozing the alarm for almost an hour )...
a decent puri-chole in the nite and then came the CS,AoE wins...
I ran and ran like a dog was running behind me(Infact at the starting of the race, a senior was actually running... ) but by the time I passed the baton to the second person, we both were at almost same level.
The fact that we had already lost Ratanjee didn't matter at that time. My full focus was on Running and I enjoyed it... the only even in Ratanjee in which I participated and I loved it...
Yes, the seniors have finally won Ratanjee. At this moment, the score is 10-4 with hockey and Men's & Women's Basky still left. We hope to win all three of them... but no matter what, SENIORS and XL ROCK.
Hey !!! Ratanjee got over today !!! The scoreline is in favour of the seniors !!! But it is the Cheering ( or should i say sledging ) squad of the juniors that took the honours right thru the tournament.........
Btw , I was a part of the CS team.... we won 22-11..... Kick a** action in dust2 arena..... my score read 39-12 in the end.... Maybe now i can apply to JJJAXI ( gaming committee of XL.. dnt ask me the full form... U'll die laughing.... ) The AoE team also easily conquered the seniors.... Of course , the weightage to these games came as a surprise to us afterwards....
A thoroughably enjoyable weekend.... XL roxxxxx........
