Hello Mohit,
I am Gajanan Shanbhag, a first year MBA student from the NC State University. NC State has one of the best Supply Chain MBA program in USA.
The top Supply Chain programs according to me : MIT, Penn State (Smeal), Michigan State (Broad), Arizona State, NC State.
BUT before considering & evaluating the universities for Supply Chain MBA, I would recommend you to first evaluate & assess whether doing an MBA from USA would be a good decision.
The job market in the USA is really very very bad.
The restriction on H1B (work authorization visas for internationals) is increasing day by day.
90% of the companies have stopped sponsoring H1B visas.
Reason - The US Govt is offering massive tax rebates to companies , who do
not sponsor H1B's, hence companies are preffering to take locals.
It takes almost 10K USD for a company now, to sponsor an H1b Visa.
Your decision should be based on the basic question:
"DO I want to work in the USA after my MBA ?"
Also please talk to more people & try to collect your data.
Regards,
Gajanan Shanbhag
Hi Gajanan
Thanks for your valuable time and advice. I am aware that the job market is bad in US (recission + visa restrictions) but i hope things are getting better up there. Your concern is right that getting visa sponsorship from companies is getting difficult but i think its worth taking a chance.
Anyhow i am interested in MBA in USA only.As i plan to work in US after my Graduation.
If you don't mind can i have your contact so that i can ask some direct questions from you.
I heard that Smeal (Penn State) offers a good program for SCM MBA aspirants. The school also offers scholarships and a lot of puys landed funding last year and a year before. So if you are not looking at the tier-1, I believe Smeal could be a good choice. but please do your research :)
good luck!
@ mohit - all the best !
I m in USA now, hence we can chat thru facebook !
U can send me messages there
Hi Welcome to PG.
Try asking in a general GMAT thread or Phoren B school thread will help. Go to homepage and use search option (it work like google only) 😁 Kindly don't open new thread without searching for the existing ones.
Generally a new thread doesn't attract many of the users...U will get more replies, answers in a thread which is active. Moreover if u start reading posts , it will help a lot.

Mohit,
Here is my list for you....
1. MIT MLOG
2. Ross MSCM
3. MSU MBA with specialization in SCM
4. University of Wisconsin- Madison MBA -SCM
I am a graduate of Ross MSCM Program...Check out this Program....rankings, reputation and other stuff apart....you get a job....a good one... and the coveted H1B sponsorship....!!! (would like to mention that Ross is the only B School apart from Harvard,Wharton and Kellogg that has consistently featured in BusinessWeek top ten rankings since 1988, In 2008 Business Week ranked Ross School of Business as No. 1 in Operations).
....whatever career crap we talk....getting a H1B and a good job in US is what matters and is the end objective. In this economy, only a big name will help....if you can't get a big name, postpone coming to US for another 2-3 years...at least for studies....the economy will come out of this recession for sure in another 2-3 years and then you can hop in....
Ask for placement stats from the admission offices of all the programs being mentioned in this thread...especially international students and it will be a lot easier for you to decide....rather than read a lot of gyan...either from me or from anyone else.
Stats for MSCM Class of 2009 ....100% placement....70% international students...50% of the batch was desi.....all of them have jobs in US....great profiles and good pay...Isn't that important?
All the best ......!!!
Rgds
