Hi - I’m someone with 8 years of experience (28yo) in investment banking research and credit research for a couple of KPOs (split roughly 4 years in each). Currently I’m a buy-side credit investment analyst for a London-based credit management firm.
I graduated in BBS (Finance) in 2014 from the #1 undergrad management college in India (Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University).
My ultimate career goal is to switch to private equity in India, but since my entire experience has been in a back-end research capacity, getting into front-end buyside roles in India is getting difficult.
So now I’m thinking of doing a good MBA either in India or abroad, so that I can pivot to consulting first and then to PE from there.
I currently earn around 50 LPA and would potentially get to 70 in a couple of years if I continue in my current role, but then growth would stagnate at that.
Could you please help me in understanding whether doing an MBA at this stage would help me make the pivot. And if so, which programs would you recommend? The usual MBA or Executive MBA? I’m targetting only ISB in India and top colleges abroad (mainly US and UK).
Thanks!
Kunal
