m really glad to see mumbai as one of the test center now...:cheerio:...i had a query about the form....it is mentioned there to write graduation marks..but m doing my finall year in graduation n have answered the 5th semester exam but the results are yet due....n have no idea when the results are going to be declared...in this case which marks to write in the form???

just mention the aggregate of the 5 semesters you have appeared so far and make sure that you get a bonafide certificate from your institution mentioning that you are still pursuing your course and you are yet to attempt the 6th semester.

Is there any prejudice against applicants who are not from economics/commerce background? i..e. I am from IT background (with 2 yrs exp) will work adversely against me during the selection procedure?

having gone through last years' ques paper. i found that the gk section included a lot of ques realted to finance n economics.
for ex.
1. what is a preference share
2. balance sheet of a company means???
3. in india option contracts on share price indices are generally of??
4. in business all assets are subject to depriciation except
5 a ques on bond maturity period
6.higher interest rate in market leads to
7.a ques on inflation
8. ques on non performing assets
9.if the government of india decides to disinvest from a public sector company, then share capital of the compny wil increase/decrease/ niethr inc or dec??
10.a ques on balance of trade
11. wich of the following is not an example of financial instruments
options swaps bonds choices
12 a ques on leveraged buyout

Hi, I am from an engg. background too. The above fin/eco Q's you mentioned aren't tough at all. Basically, this kind of knowledge, we should be having at the graduation level, especially when we are targetting an MBA/ECO/FIN post grad. NCFM-Financial Market beginner's module is a good material for the above kind of questions. It can be downloaded from nseindia.com>>ncfm modules.
Also, you could try investopedia.com and just search around for finance/eco stuff on wikipedia. Coaching institute magazines may also have some good info. Other sources can be magazines/newspapers.
