Are the GE-PI interview dates decided based on merit performance in MICAT?
Dream Broken..shattered.. : ( : ( ..don't know how to express this...those who got selected ..wish you all the best !! .. a request to shortlisted students: could they share their attempts in each section and something related to their creative writing section(if possible, try sharing what you think was special in your stories that might have got u to the 2nd round..everyone has some idea what went well ...i screwed in the story writing..could write just 80-100 words i guess)..please share your experience in detail here as many may try next year as they may have courage to carry on with a dream !

Congratulations on securing the GE-PI call! Please find below some FAQs which should answer most of your queries:
What is the pattern of GE and PI?
GE and PI - This consists of a series of interactions with candidates, on campus, to assess their suitability for the Communications Management industry. This does not require any prior preparation.
What is the cut off score for GE/PI?
There are no standard cut-offs. Individuals taking the MICAT must attempt and complete all the sections of the test satisfactorily to qualify for GE & PI. Performance in MICAT only and not the scores of CAT/XAT/GMAT etc will be considered for shortlisting for GE/PI.
When does the GE-PI process take place?
The GE/PI process will be held from 2nd -11th April 2014 at the MICA Campus
Is it possible to reschedule my GE-PI slot?
The slot can be rescheduled for genuine reasons. A request will have to be sent to the admissions office at least a week prior to your original slot. Email: [email protected] Admissions helpline number: +91-2717-308313 (it has an answering machine connected for calls received beyond office hours).
Is there any provision for accommodation on campus?

How do I reach the MICA campus?
On the day of the GE-PI, a bus will ply from AMA (near IIM-A) to ferry you to the campus. If you wish to reach the campus directly then the campus is about 20 kms away from the railway station and about 40 kms away from the airport. Taxi services and autos are available to reach MICA.
What is an SOP?
SOP is a Statement Of Purpose wherein you express your intention and reason behind applying to MICA and how it is relevant in your life and to your career plans.
What should one expect in a Group Exercise?
Candidates will be divided into groups of 9 to 10 and each group will be given an activity, for instance, you could be asked to design a media campaign for a sports festival in a housing society. Each group will be given 30 minutes to ideate and present their task.
How is a GE different from a GD?
A GE will have start off with a group discussion and then move to implementing the task or giving it direction. That's the reason a GD takes close to 15 minutes whereas a GE will take around 30 minutes.
How much time does the entire process take?
It's a full day process stretching up to 8pm so plan your travel and accommodation accordingly.
When are the results of the GE-PI declared?
Three lists are released on the day of the GE-PI €“ Spot Offers, Merit List/Wait List and Spot Reject. Spot offer means an official admission offer from the college. The remaining seats are first occupied by candidates who have been merit listed and subsequently by waitlisted candidates. The first list of selected candidates is generally released a week after the GE-PI process concludes.
By how much does the waitlist generally move?
For the session 2013-2015, the waitlist moved till around 40.

Devise a media campaign for 'SAY NO TO DRUNKEN DRIVING'..
Guys how does cross-marketing work ??? I was asked this in a mock interview, taking liquor as an example. I told that the brand name is marketed instead of directly promoting the liquor product. He immediately asked me how will people then come to know of the liquor as such. I din't know what to answer. I gave similar examples of Wills, Benson&Hedges; for cigarettes, but still I couldn't answer him correctly. Could you people chip in? 😃
