@seniors---- i'm b.tech mechanical engg. fresher and i'm little confused with which spesialisation to choose . So please if anyone can help me with that. which specialisation will be better .. i want to make my carrier in automobile sector(manufacturing plant)...help me out...planning to take admission this year.
For B Tech Mechanical I would suggest PGDM where you can take subjects in operations, project management, production etc. Or alternative is to take Marketing specialization I don't think finance or HR would be suitable unless you have specific liking for it. My experience is specialization does not matter as far as study is concern, what is important is you do well in your subjects. I don't mean marks or grades but understanding basics well. So take a call based on your liking. It's good idea to meet professional or faculty personally.

i have scored 58 in cat. Am i eligible to apply for mit??
I don't think they have any eligibility except to have 50% for graduation. Selection consists of academic records, CAT scores, extempore (essay and talk), interview and work experience. Based on combined score admission is decided. Your CAT score seem to be low in my opinion but you can make up in extempore and interview if your English communication is good. There are also marks for first class or above 70% in 10th and 12th. So my suggestion is apply now. And if you don't get selected due to low CAT weight, appear for ATMA or May MAT and submit the improved score later.

which is better Christ or MIT in placemnets??
Between these two I would recommend MITSOB. Placements are better, this year they have overseas placements also, average and highest package is good and their placement data is audited by CRISIL so it is authentic.
cat 72%mat:72%grad:52%12th:52%(till 2nd year)10th:66%woking with 2 NGO's.

PGDM is the right option for you. There are many subjects like world class manufacturing, quality management, innovation management, quantitative techniques, that will help you in choosing career. At MITSOB you have about 65 options of subjects in second year. You need to study 10 to 12. Placements are very good at MITSOB, further for engineers it is even better. Of course these are are primarily in manufacturing, projects and marketing. So with PGDM you can take few subjects like logistics and supply chain, product management etc. Our alumni is in FOTON motors as Head talent acquisition. FOTON is largest manufacturer in the world for commercial vehicles and in the process of starting production facility in Pune by 2014. So there is a good opportunity. Please feel free to ask any more details.

Your chances are good if you have good English communication skills for extempore talk and interview. You lose score for 12th and ok in CAT / MAT. But you will get advantage of experience. I don't know how many years you are working. There is no harm in trying.

Yes you are eligible as long as you have minimum 50% in graduation. CAT score is given weight in composite score. You can cover in other areas. I know the score is low. You can also improve through next ATMA or MAT exams if needed. You first finish selection process and then take a call.

Many companies in these sectors visit campus and students are placed at good offers. Few of them are, Volkswagon, Piggio, MAN industries, Premiere Auto, Kirloskar, Mahindra, Elcome Marine, Phoenix Mechano, Electronica, Eaton, POSCO electrical, Atul, Amtek, Indian seamless, Colgate, Varroc Engg, Fenesta, etc. Max and average package is Rs 5.5 lac and 3.5 Lac respectively in these companies. Institute highest package was 8.2 Lac. It was finance.

1. Low academics in general will not be issue if you perform well during course and tackle interview well except few companies like TCS, Colgate, Delloit who ask through first class. 2. Finance is excellent as regards to placement and faculty. We also have value added courses for finance like Finaticx (Excel based finance), NSE course, CFP, etc. 3. There are variety from equity research, banking, relationship mgt, wealth mgt, financial analyst, etc. 4. This is available on website for all students. We do not separate specialization wise as they are allowed to appear for any interview. For finance profiles Highest 6.5 (8.2 for Marketing profile of a finance student) average 4.05. Cost of International tour depends on countries and duration. Last year was Europe cost 1.7 lac. This year we are arranging course at Singapore HR Institute cost will be less than 1 lac. 6. I can't really comment. You lose on academics ok on MAT so it depends on your English articulation skills. If you are good in speaking, you have a chance. 7. All get good internships (Any case it is mandatory so we have to help).

No reservations of any kind in MITSOB. Entry is strictly as per merit. See website, please. Reservations are only in University programs and not in AICTE approved autonomous programs yet.
