As I know MITSOM is through Govt of Maharashtra and MITSOB is based on CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT etc followed by their process. You need to find the process. Visit website and call them.

No harm in applying in any institute. Only check the institute is good. Find info about infrastructure, faculty, discipline (few institutes don't even conduct lectures), placement records, etc. Talk to students once you zero on to any institute.
i hv gt as 669.5 composite score nd 88.6 as percentile, under MAT-DEC...and 77.2% in 10th, 84% in 12th nd 60.33% in graduation from agra university....so do i hv any chance??

MITSOB has been improving it's ranking over last few years. Web site gives them. Placements are one of the best in Pune for last year. We give complete details like student names, companies, packages, etc. We even provide our alumni contact details to verify. This year our's is the only institute in Pune that has submitted our placement data to CRISIL for audit. So there is no attempt to partially hide the data or just give general statistics that can not be verified. You can visit our website or visit personally. This year we already have six overseas placements. Total placements so far can be seen on our website.

MITSOB faculty is known to be good. You can ask alumni and students. That's the best way. I can't really comment. From their qualifications and experience given by their brochure it seems very good with lot of industry experience at higher level. Any graduate can benefit doing PG. So I don't find why graduate in Hotel management can not benefit. I suggest you visit the institute and ask the faculty and placement office.
@tarushgoradia In batch 2010-2012 there was 224 students but only 147 got placed as per website of mitsob ?? so placement wise is it good ??
I have heard from many of my friends that MITSOB placements are among the best. They have displayed names of the students, companies and packages. As regards to 147 in 224 I don't know. But you need to find how many passed exams, how many joined family business or gone to their home towns (particularly girls). Check are there any unemployed after the course when last companies came to the campus. This I think you can find out from students or placement dept. I can ask my friend from other institute (Engineering) in their campus. But what you should be more interested in is number and type of companies visited campus and packages offered. Selection depends on the student's caliber. This year I heard their placements are good with few overseas placement. I know one of their student by name Shimpi who is placed overseas. I don't know others.
With a score of 561, you can appear directly for the selection process at MITSOB. I suggest you visit the website and register online by choosong an appropriate date. As per AICTE guidelines, any student appearing for CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA/XAT need not appear for any other examination. Topics for extempore are common and general topics which any student with normal general awareness can tackle. That need not be an issue for worry.
Foreign tour is optional and is planned based on the response of the students. For the price tahy charge, its really atreat. Last time the students visited companies like L'oroel in Paris, Mercedes Benz and BMW in Germany, Swiss industry in Geneva, Diamond factory at Amsterdam in addition to mueseums and site seeing. I understand the it was a very comfortable from start to finish .
@sourjog I have come across their course fees which says 5.5 lks including laptop, study material, dress etc etc. so are there any hidden fees in mitsob apart from their course fees ?? like any foreign tour etc etc ??
The fee structure at MITSOB is rs 2.75 lacs per year. As understood it includes laptop, textbooks, seminars, industrial tours, placement charges, uniform, examination,convocation etc. There are no cumpulsory hidden fees. The foreign tour is optional not cumpulsory and is paid for those who voluanteer for it.
When I said not optional and is based on voluantary basis means, students opt for it and it is conducted only when there are people willing to pay for it. It is not a hidden component because it is not cumpulsory.
@seniors---- i'm b.tech mechanical engg. fresher and i'm little confused with which spesialisation to choose .
