NABARD Recruitment 2019-20 | PaGaLGuY

Those of you who are thinking about getting home posting/ mutual transfer etc. just forget about it. The request will not be considered at all. This is perhaps the only bad/ good part of working in NABARD. You will get very few chance to be in your home state. Few lucky souls are off course there. But by and large you will be thrown from one corner of the country to other. So, be mentally 100% prepared for this truth.

The only good part is you will be posted in the state capitals so infrastructure-wise there will be no issues. Only thing is you will miss your home state, friends, relatives, functions , food and so on....

can anybody here tell me HR number

when was the result announced

i cannot find it in the website

can somebody give me the HR number

For queries regarding duration of first posting -

1. It is very unpredictable in NABARD.

2. When we joined it was 5 year, then it became seven years, now its 5 years. Every year there is new transfer policy.

3. Whatever may be the transfer policy, one can be transferred early or late also.

4. There are people in our batch transferred in 1 year, 2 year, 3 year ...so all variations are there.

5. Only sure thing is initial posting is shorter in North East.

For queries regarding accommodation -

1. Most of the centers have bank flats available. You will be offered it when you will report at your center. Initially 2-3 days you will get bank guest house known as VOF in Nabard.

2. It is still better, as per my personal opinion, if you don't get bank flat. In that case you will be offered choice of leased flat. this is how it works -

a. if there is a flat of some private party in the pool you will be offered it.

b. otherwise you will be told to search accommodation on your own. You can take help of news paper, agents etc.

c. the house owner will have to come to our office. Office will sign lease agreement with the owner.

d. you will be given letter to take possession of the flat.

e. Your eligibility is up to 13.5K at most centers.

For queries regarding UPSC, outside opportunities after joining Nabard -

1. After joining nabard most people have only better option in - UPSC, State PCS and RBI Grade B

2. For giving these exams you have to take permission from office. No problem in getting permission. Its just formality.

3. I have myself reached up to interview stage of UPSC CSE three times after joining nabard  (though with no positive final result). So, yes, preparation is possible.

4. Taking leave will be problem. You get OL and Sick leaves, you can use them. If it becomes EOL i.e. leave without pay then it is considered as bad leave record, which may affect promotion prospects.

As you know it all depends on your determination.

i did not got my travel allowance..what should i  do?

Hi all,

I have got requests to share the strategy for nabard exam.

Prelims/Phase-I:

i) Quantitative Aptitude - 50 marks

ii) Test of Reasoning - 50 marks

iii) English Language & Computer Awareness - 60 marks (30 each)

iv) General Awareness - 40 marks

Approach-- Attempt iii) and iv) first. Takes 30-35 minutes. You are done with 100 questions and feel confident. You have 90 mins left (45mins each for both reasoning and quant section).Next section to attempt is your call (whichever you are good at. I personally feel you can do more questions of reasoning than quant given same amount of time.). There is sectional cutoff so make sure you have attempted minimum 20 in both. Strategy-- Newspapers (Hindu + Business standard). If you can read only one, then Hindu is must. Make notes in your own handwriting for revision before exams or if you read online, then copy paste relevant info month wise. If you still have time left then you can follow a monthly magazine for all current affairs (optional). Quant and reasoning needs practice. The more the better.

Mains/Phase-II:

Paper-I (Descriptive) General English-- Essay, letter writing, reading comprehension. For letter writing, format is important. Read examples from any book and practice writing a few before exam. For essay, you should spend half the time of test. Use 20-30 minutes for listing points to cover in rough work and thinking how to arrange them in a structured manner. 1 hr is for execution. Usually you can divide a topic temporally (develop it historically), geographically and domain wise (like social, economic and political aspects). I attempted topic on "future wars would be on water". Brief introduction of value of water in our culture i.e it is worshipped. Has spiritual value. In present treated as commodity and emerging water crisis. Water crisis at local, regional (among states. eg cauvery), national level (reducing per capita availability, monsoon variation due to climate change) and international level (among countries. eg: dam building by china on brahmaputra. Pakistan suspects India on damming of Indus and its tributares. Teesta river issue with Bangladesh). A paragraph on each level but more emphasis on international level and then regional as that seemed to be the main reason for giving topic. Last paragraph. Suggest solutions. Like India, Bangladesh coming together to force China for treaty on Brahmaputra and developing river basins together. Sharing tech on efficient water use and conservation. being transparent about dam building, etc. How Indus treaty has survived wars. Conclude if possible on optimistic note.

Paper-II (Descriptive) Economic and Social Issues--

Read NCERT's of economics (11th and 12th. You can skip microeconomics of 12th.). Rest newspapers. I find business standard quite good and to the point. You can read others as per your preference. Answer writing-- Practice writing answers regularly. Pick any topic from newspaper and write. Choose questions where you can give a lot of content and diverse perspectives on topic. I personally write answer in paragraph format. In bullet points it looks unorganized. In Nabard and RBI Grade B, one gets more time than UPSC, so you should ideally write in paragraphs. If short on time, shift to bullets. To make paragraph writing effective, you can underline important sentences. If not that, I use the first sentence of every paragraph for giving central point of that para and rest para for elaboration of that point. Substantiate your point by giving examples. Giving examples from current affairs or linking topics with current news is best. The objective should be to make life of examiner easy. Legible handwriting is important. Not too good but must be legible. Give sufficient space between words, right sized words. Try making your answer sheet better.

Paper III (Descriptive) - Analytical Paper on Development, Statistics, Finance and Management-- Applicable for grade B. Someone who gave grade B can write on this. I appeared for grade A.

Nabard Interview Experience:

It had all the phases according to me--worse, normal and good ones. After it was over, i wasn't exactly sure how it went. But the result turned out to be well. Scored 22/25.

5 Members including chairman (C).

C: A long slow monologue on bajrangi bhaijan movie.

Me: (After 2-3 minutes he takes a slightly long pause and i open my mouth before its time) Sir, I have not watched the movie.

C: I am not finished.

Me: Sorry sir (Congratulate myself for the perfect start).

C: (continues) So in real life there was recently a story in news which was related to this movie.

Me: (Still dwelling over my stupid interruption in beginning) yes sir, a deaf and mute girl indian girl is said to be pakistan and wants to return to india.

C: Yes. Do you think its a true story?

Me: (Blurted out yes without thinking and then tried to do damage control) Yes sir. Every now and then fishermen and pastoralists cross over inadvertently. A decade or so back, it is possible she might have crossed over. Though chances of it happening in recent years have reduced due to activ border patrolling and fencing.

C: (He is not amused. Gives an expression that tells me that i have dropped the ball. Passes on to next)

M1: Tell me the various schemes of Nabard.

Me: Told around 6-7.

M1: You mentioned RIDF. So what rural infra does Nabard provides?

Me: Warehouses, rural roads, electrification, irrigation works, cold storage etc.

M2: Are you aware of happenings in Europe?

Me: Yes sir.

M2: There is a crisis in greece and there is an ongoing debate regarding it. Whether austerity measures need to be undertaken or not? Tell me about this debate.

Me: Sir, There are essentially two ways of resolving the crisis. One is austerity and the other is government stimulus to economy. Austerity involves cutting public spending of govt and raising taxes to bridge fiscal deficit. This involves considerable pain for the public as social sector benefits are cut. This is currently being implemented in greece under pressure from IMF and german govt. It has not yielded results as lower public consumption reduces growth which further reduce taxes despite higher rates thus increasing deficit further. The other alternative is kickstarting economy by higher spending by govt which will raise growth and thus revenues from taxes. The deficit would be bridged in long term.

(Keeps looking while i have run out of things to say.) I add that considering austerity is also creating political instability and misery, alternative of govt spending must be tried.

M3: Read the case study on your right.

Me: (Thank you for asking next question) I turn right and start reading.

M3: What are you doing?

Me: Sir, Reading the case study.

M3: Read loudly. We too would like to know too whats in it.

Me: (It is a turning out to be a perfect day. I reprimand myself for this background processing in head.) (I finish reading. It was a case study on how cooperative were formed among marginal farmers to shift them from opium cultivation to cardomom)

##Some straight question from case study. I found them probing for benefits other than given directly. Organized the benefits in terms of social, economic and moral ones. Opium is most likely also used locally and thus problem of addiction is solved by shifting to cardmom. Youth productivity increases. (Grah kalesh kam hona. I laughed in my head when it came to mind.) I said the social benefit would be better marital and family relations in regions. The crime rate would reduce. So moral upliftment of society as a whole. Economic benefits were straightforward in terms of higher income due to market linkages and reduced input cost due to higher bargaining power of cooperative. Leadership training for youth who heads this cooperative who will pass on the learning to others.

(I finally found my bearings by now and board seemed satisfied)

M4 (Lady member): You know about SHG's?

Me: (grinning wide I say yes. Happiness lasted only until she asked the question)

M4: SHG's works in some states but they don't in some states. Why?

Me: (A bit flummoxed. This was almost same question that had come in UPSC mains last year i.e socio-cultural hurdles SHG's face and i didn't knew the answer then). I start mumbling about female literacy levels saying SHG's are doing well in Kerela but not in UP bcz of higher female literacy in kerala.

M4: Literacy level is important for SHG but SHG's are not working well in Kerela though.

Me: Due to patriarchy.

M4: (she smiles wide)

Me: (Taking it as cue, I revolve around patriarchy for next few minutes)For instance in my state haryana, many women are not allowed to work outside even when they have good education. They also cannot pursue education which leads to low female literacy level despite it being a developed state. Besides there is feminization of agriculture taking place due to male dominated rural-urban migration. So household activities and agriculture barely leaves time for anything else. (She noddes strongly). Also women have to take care of children and elderly which again leaves no time. In many areas, women fetch water and firewood from far of places. So all these activities leave no time and energy for anything else. Other reason is internal dynamics of SHG's. Lack of compatibility in terms of goal and skill and education level between members.

M4: You mean homogenization would work better?

Me: Yes, yes..the internal chemistry and understanding between them. Being from same neighbourhood and knowing each other well would help them collaborate better.

(The lady member was the happiest person in the room).

End.

Did everybody got the TA claim?

have they released the marks obtained list?

Guys, does anybody know whether Nabard will recruit next year too for Grade A and B?

Ny waiting list
