It is just my curiosity to know salary details n other facilities. So just wait n let other candidates give d answer.
One of my friend told me that there is no special discount for employees for motor Insurance.
Also he told me dat NO CAR LOAN or HOME LOAN will be given to us till we complete our FOUR Years of BOND Period.

Hi All,

I am posting my interview experience with OICL. Could all of u pls chip in with a rough analysis of the interview went as per u and are there chances of complete rejection :)

My background: B.Com (Hons) with PGDRM and 1.5 years of work ex in Development Consulting.

Interviewer 1:

1.Why did you leave your job? You probably thought u wud get in to OICL. Overconfident!!

Ans.I have been appearing for competitive exams for abt 4-5 months now and with the job it was not possible for me to prepare for it.

2.But still you shouldn't have left your job. What were your job timings? And what exactly is it that you do in development consulting?

Ans. 9.30am to 7.30pm and then explained him my job.

3.Well I think one can prepare in this schedule. But I m still not convinced as to why you left your job!

Ans.Part of the reason lies in the fact that my company has won a major assignment which had a project duration of 18 months. And my involvement had to be in the capacity of project manager. The assignment had to roll by mid September and once involved after contract signing I would not have been available for immediate joining in the event of OICL shortlisting me for the job as it required a notice period of 3 long months. For immediate relieving I wud have to pay the company 3 months' salary which is a little over 1 lakh. Hence took a calculative risk by quitting the job before the interview results.

(They seemed a bit satisfied but I m skeptical)

4.Anyway why insurance. U already have a career in development consulting?

Ans.The gist of my answer was “Its not abt insurance per se but I Want a job with certain amount of stability which a PSU like OICL provides”

5.Why don't you try banks. They also provide stability.

Ans.I missed the application deadline for IBPS.

(They nodded but I think it was a lame excuse J)

6.What would you advise the PM if the objective is to improve Financial Inclusion?

Ans.Abt 3-4 minutes discussion on this. I gave a couple of pointers with which he agreed. He also added a couple of pointers.

Interviewer 2:

7.Do you have any kind of insurance. What abt life insurance?

Ans.No sir I have not covered myself as yet.

8.Do you have a vehicle insurance?

Ans.I don't own a vehicle so not yet.

9.Havent you been approached by any agents?

Ans.Yes a couple of times but I did not want to take the burden of a premium as I did not intend to stick with my job for a long period

Interviewer 3:

10.So u said u r interested in insurance, then why don't u tell me What do you think abt the capital intensiveness of the insurance industry?

Ans. As I said its not abt insurance but the stability that an establishment like OICL provides. (the panel smiled). Regarding the capital intensiveness I m not sure . (Then he explained me as to how premiums are collected from lots of ppl and then in totality it adds to a big amount). Then he smiled and asked “what do you say now”. I replied “yes sir it's a highly capital intensive industry”.

11.What is the difference between taxation of resident Indians and NRIs?

Ans. I answered but missed a point which he again explained it to me nicely.

12.Have you heard abt MAT. Can u tell me what it is?

Ans.MAT is minimum alternate tax but I don't remember the definition.

Thanks we are done.

sumbody in dis thread said that according to rti ,cutoff this year for generalist is 106....bhai log rti bhi tabhi cut off batata hai jab poora process end ho jata hai .....jab tak final selection ki list nahi aa jati hai tab tak no organization answers RTI .....EVEN UPSC bhi final results dene k baad hi cutoff disclose krta hai not in miidle of recruitment process .......so everything regarding the cutoff for 2012 here is just a rumour .......

correct ..... what REALLY matters now is our final selection ........hope this all is going to end good .....
bro are you sure har exam mein process k baad hi rti answer hoti hai. you are absolutely correct for case of UPSC. but brother it cannot be generalised. it depends on organization

i am a btech graduate in computer science in 2011.... my interview on 8th sept in chennai...... what can b d questions dat i may get.....???? tensd...:((
