Can a person with such scores apply to NIT-Suratkal.? or which NITs can she apply to? Any chance of getting a call?
Heard that though cut off initially may start at 75% it will end up at 88% in the end,for calls to get converted.

hey luckystar,
Dont be upset about your score. But with 58%ile, NIT Surathkal looks tough.
I would still suggest you to apply maybe if your luck kicks off you might get a drop-out seat.
NIT Bhopal
NIT Jaipur
you will definitely convert into a final call. My suggestion apply to NIT K and keep Bhopal and jaipur as a back-up in case you dont get here you still can get there.

I think you should make it, based on previuos years trends. At max you will be in waitlist but even then you will clear it and make to final list don worry.
Apply and wait for the GD/PI list.

ur friend has a very good chance to get into NITK...she scored consistently from school... and a yr experience frm Infosys is another feather in her cap.. Do give it a shot..all the very best for GD/PI.

8. Selection Procedure:
Admission to MBA Progamme by NITK Surathkal
M.B.A.: The selection for MBA programme is done separately by the Institute during April/May and is based on the Rank/Scores obtained in the CAT 2011,
Group discussion and Personal Interview.
The prescribed application form for MBA Programme can be downloaded from the Institute website NITKSurathkal_NITKHome. The application form can be duly
filled and sent to the Dy. Registrar (Academic), National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, Mangalore -575 025, Karnataka State on or before the last date prescribed 31.01.2012 along with a D.D. for Rs.600/- (in case of SC/ST, Rs.150/-) drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, payable at State Bank of India, Surathkal /Canara Bank, NITK Campus (Canara Bank DP Code 8517) .
Application without the D.D for the required amount will not be considered.
Applications which are incomplete/defective/received late are liable to be rejected summarily and no correspondence will be entertained on such applications.

Any graduate with 55% marks can apply for MBA program at NITK. These sort of queries have already been answered in previous posts , so i urge all the aspirants to please go through the previous posts before posting any new query.
