In Mahabalipuram Temple there are some magical bells which tolls 18 times in a day, simultaneously.
But every bell tolls at a different interval of time, but not in fraction of minutes. The maximum
number of bells in the temple can be

since the bells toll 18 times a day it means the difference between two intervals is
24*60/18 = 80 mins .
Now it means for all the bells LCM = 80 = 2^4 * 5 means maximum bells possible is 10 .

Permiter of a rectangle is 384 units. It can be totally cut into smaller squares of max posbl length 12 units. How many such squares can be formed? What are those?

srry i misread the above ques..

15 rows of 12 units and 1 column of 12 units - so my answer is 15

their is a formula in which rectangle having m rows and n columns -

no of squares - m.n + (m-1)(n-1) until we get either of them as 1.

We know - (n-1)! mod n = (n-1)

=> 16! mod 17 = 16
=> 16*15*14! mod 17 = 16
=> -1*-2*14! mod 17 = 16
=> 2*14! mod 17 = 16

(17m + 2) x (17n + x) = (17k + 16)

Thus, x = 8 = Remainder.

E(1024) = 1024*1/2 = 512
3^512 gives you remainder 1
and 2048 is a multiple of 512
so answer is 1!!!

Q.) What is the remainder when 1+7+7^2+7^3+....+7^2009 is divided by 9?
@yasaswimr for first term remainder is 1, for second term its 7, then 4.
After that, it repeats
Remainders: 1,7,4,1,7,4.
