But for an amt over 7.5 you will need to provide collateral!!
Damn! That's cool man. Hope we get covered in 10 lakhs. I dont know, but I am getting a feeling that there is going to be a lot more hidden costs which we dont know about as of now.

Yeah , the processing charges with credila is also high. For a loan of 10 lakhs INR i have to pay processing charges of around 12k.Also 10 years of repayment period is actaully inclusive of your two years at college. So effectively the repayment time is say 8 years

Think about it. Keep the tuition fees aside for now.
Laptop = Rs 30,000 Mess = 2500 x 20 months = Rs 50,000 (My figure of 20, because of summer internship) Electricity = Roughly 600/month for 20 months = Rs 12,000 Pre-joining shopping = Around MAX Rs 10,000 (which includes shopping for formals, casuals, bedsheets etc etc. Other Monthly Expenses = 1000/month for 20 months = Rs 20,000 (Now this is an amount which could drastically vary!)
So thats roughly 1,22,000. Plus the tuition fees.
Please correct me if I am wrong. I hope I am wrong and it works out cheaper for us 😁 !
Hi, I've already applied for the loan from Credila. They are offering me Rs 10 lac without collateral @13%. The 10 lac can be used for any purpose- tuition, hostel or mess, but they won't be able to release the money every month (in case of mess fee). However, if we pay the mess bill from own sources and submit the receipts, they will refund the money every six months. The repayment period is upto 10 years. If you need, I can give you the contact person's phone number.

For starters, are u going in for AC or non AC room.. As per Viraj, AC room electricity charges are arnd 1k pm n for non AC is arnd 0.1k pm. On the alternate side, u r planning to manage with only 1k pm. I think it will b more esp since there will b a lot of events happening that may take a toll on ur wallet. Better to keep it at 2k pm. So what is ur revised cost now?? PS: Thankfully I had bot my laptop 2 yrs back, so wudnt b spending the 30k u mentioned!!

I'll be opting for Non-Ac Large. But suppose, you are carrying an iron with you and you use it frequently, I am pretty sure the monthly electricity will go beyond 0.1k even for non ac rooms.
I also read somewhere that an average hostel student spends around 500 per month on booze alone 😛 So add that into the equation if you drink.
I think my previous calculation of 1.22 lakhs would be revised to around 1.35 lakhs now. *Sigh.
