seniors..i am a engg fresher frm mumbai university and have an aggregate score of 55%....will dis be a problem during placements...do companies require 60% aggregate in all sems or will 60% in final year do???....i cant afford to nt get placed as i ll be opting fr an edu loan to cover the expenses....i d really appreciate a candid and blunt opinion on dis 1 guys...
As far as I recall, seniors had mentioned that some of the companies do ask for your graduation scores but not all. Also, the placements would be based on your performance during that time. Anyways, m sure Viraj/Khanjan will respond soon enough. PS: M nt a senior, bt a aspirant at TAPMI!!
I am wrkin in IT monster from 2 yrs rite after my btech but had 2 yr gap after 12th does many comp take this into consideration or this is not a big issue, please give me a true reply.....
These are company policies, we cannot predict it. Some even ask for each sem 60+ But these are very rare companies. Don't worry much about that.

If you can provide some reasonable answer why it happened thn there is no problem. It all depends on how you tackle your interview when this question is asked. It should not create huge problem.

Till now students have got chance to display their area of academic/professional strengths(independent of marks) in some companies. A student is expected to possess a minimum grade to qualify to second year(and we appear for final placements in second year). We cannot give a guarantee on future scenario as a company policy might change time to time and 'average' might be quantified different as per person. Grades act as one of strong parameter during placements(just as academic scores were important during admissions).
Regardless of institute, a student starts academics on an optimistic note, rather than focusing on minimum case scenario. Best of luck!

by the way my cat %le is 99.45
Once you join, you have to give a written application and supporting documents for the same. This the first time college is offering scholarship to CAT 99+ percentileres so we have not much idea about further process.
i would be glad if we have a healthy discussion on my below query. Owing to the fact that europe is going through a slowdown and our own indian crisis of fiscal deficit, policy paralysis, declining growth rate is it a right time to enter a B school leaving your current job say having avg package of 4. or could it be better to wait for a year.. because the average package and numbers of jobs largely vary during slowdown i myself exprienced while our seniors had lot of difficulty to get even a single offer some of us even had three offers till our last semister of computer science engineering..
may be i sound a bit apprehensive but when you put so much money on stake you don't want to lend up at same place again.:nono:
please entertain this question here because this is the only active thread of TAPMI..

Thanks to a robust regulatory authority, India has registered a strong growth in the final quarter of 2011 despite global slowdown. Decide where you want to be: an audience witnessing the crisis or a manager appreciating the intricacies of a global effect(and taking smart decisions). Time for some of us cannot be measured in money. In case one is willing to forego a complete year in any anticipation, then we respect the decision of individual. But ultimately the decision boils down to risk-return trade off.
Regarding investment, it is all about how the resource(i.e. self) on which you have invested performs. Success/failure of the investment, is thus proportional to how an individual shapes his/her career in the arena of MBA. TAPMI provides us a platform(through faculties, infrastructure and facilities) to excel in the world of MBA. Its how we make the best use of it.
The topic is not only restricted to TAPMI, but whole MBA fraternity across nation. Request you to take the topic to appropriate post for healthy discussions.
For a person like me who is not generally interested in extra curriculars .. will it have any impact at the time of placements ? I mean, do the companies look for extra curriculars or only academics ?
I had paid the initial acceptance amount of Rs 25K and opted out of admission so I did not pay any further amount. The offer mail says that if a candidate does not make payments by the deadline, his/her admission would be cancelled and the refund would be made in one month, but no mention of sending a letter in this case. Its been about 40 days and I am waiting for the refund. Am I expected to send a letter or being patient would help?
PS - Please respond, I have noticed that a few such queries went unnoticed. We expect some professionalism here :).
