IIT D after so much of deliberation you came up with a crappy Admission procedure, You suck big time. VGSOM did million times better than you. You guys just wanted to get over with the procedure no matter how lousy they might be. Good college, inept management team!
We need to keep it in mind that the adcom ppl are just students and holds limited influence. They are mere conduit between the admin n us and if Admin is not doing anything then no one can do anything... NEITHER US NOR THE ADCOM... so raising point is one thing but blaming them isn't fair to them as they are managing this along with the lockdown and their internships... So lets hv some respect for them.
Hey Adcom, Is there any specific deadline for uploading the documents? I uploaded it last evening, am I supposed to mail it as well?

I know you people are doing the best you can do from yourself which we respect alot.
But if possible take few of our points infront of committee if you find them relevant.
Sir we did our best in Cat to compensate our old mistake of not getting into IIt/NIT, but assigning that extra marks gonna hurt some of us very badly.Also, I can see that Extracurricular marks is also removed whicjh some of us can use to compensate for diversity.
Sir if you are looking for an overall profile, shouldn't it be a mix of all fronts.
GEM are directly lagging 10 marks.
Sir Trust me for some engineer like me IITS are the only HOPE. Please consider us too.

Dear all,
These are unprecedented times. And I hope that the descisions taken by any institute are properly thought out descisions. We as applicants might find some of those descisions not so fair ones. But if we think about it IIT-Kgp is only one participanting institute where as this is a combined admission process. And conducting online PIs for all the applicants like IIT-Kgp is much harder to conduct on such a huge scale imo. We can't really say that the descion taken by the partcipating institutions are not well thought out ones, they would have taken a lof issues into consideration and would have taked this descision.
And about the NIT/IIT tags, yes, there are better institutes than a few NITs and IITs, but it's the college's wish of having more NIT and IIT graduates. If you check the admission criteria for other IITs, you'll find that being an IIT grad with cgpa>8 gives you a direct admission in IIT-R, and cgpa between 7-8cgpa you get a direct call for WAT/PI. It is the descision of the respective Institute.
Ranting on the AdCom doesn't help in anyway either, they are not the descion makers and all they can do is suggesting to admins of the committee and passing the information from them. All we can do right now is reach out to the AdCom with these issues and wait for them to take it up to the admins. They are working for us right now by giving us any info they get to us.

· Hi adcoms, Totally scrapping 5 points to iit/nit would be injustice to those who were earlier shortlisted by DMS through the criteria. Dilution of a mark or two may be done , but totally scrapping those points would be unfair. Kindly raise this concern too. Regards

Huge respect to the admission team of Vgsom IIT Kharagpur. The new criteria they have adapted gives atleast equal chance to all the aspiring applicants, It shows there level of commitment towards the selection of the candidates. Admission teams of IIT Delhi, IIT Madras do learn from them.
