would also like some opinions on my "chances" considering my current profile10th class-83.6%12th class-80.8%IIT JEE AIR 2515Doing my Electrical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad CGPA-nearly 6.5Have a few co-curriculars and a summer internship(which I told about)
AFAIK means As Far As I know,
And ya, You have fair chances of IIM CLI calls if you score 99.5+ in CAT, And Newer IIMs at 98%tile.. Last years' cut off was 97%tile for newer IIMs. XLRI/FMS/MDI/NITIE/TISS/NMIMS/IIFT to Hai hi :mg:
@tyler.durden Your internship experience will be considered as co-curricular. And how good it will be on your profile will depend on your experience/learning, how well you can explain it and the words you use in your resume/profile to put across in 1-2 lines what you did there. Don't overdo it and don't use those big words to put across something simple. Try using power verbs in your resume (do a Google search for this)
@tyler.durden Its not that institutes like XLRI, FMS, IIFT, MDI etc. don't consider past acads at all. The weightage for that is less and more weightage is on entrance exam score and GD PI. So one can easily compensate for poor acads with good scores in those 3.
@tyler.durden Well AFAIK, its a project and maybe a mini-project that one has to do in final year or pre-final year for engineering which is considered part of your curriculum (that's how it was for our university). Your internship is an extra thing I believe and it won't reflect in your mark list also if I'm not wrong. So it is not at all a problem because it is add-on to show you're taking efforts to do other things of interest to you also.

yeah it's not the part of curriculum, but I got the internship on campus,it was like a placement process, and I wanted to get into non technical because I am not interested in my branch,so I made an effort for the intern, and luckily got it
@tyler.durden You have good acads in X, XII and yeah maybe slightly less in grad. But like I said you can compensate in GD PI. So forget about acads as of now. You can't change it now, can you? Focus on what you can change now - your GD PI score. All the Best! :cheerio:
Yeah I can change my Acads slightly,I have 3 sems left(but they have a very few credits),maybe with a great deal of effort bring my CGPA close to 7,will try that.
For all IIMs especially, yes its a plus. Its a red flag during your interview process, they will definitely ask questions abt it and its a point u can capitalize on.

yeah I am pretty serious about that internship, coz they may offer me PPO if I do well, then I won't have to worry much about campus placements and focus entirely on CAT,so I would definitely do well on my intern and so can capitalize upon it on my PI

@IIMONLY I did my 12th in tamil nadu state board only...but IIM-K totally disregarded the board. A lot of factors are involved in the shortlisting process. Luck plays a role. Hope u get to where you always wanted 😃
Guys ....... joined CL class room course in bangalore. Its awesome specially material. Having full material of time(soft copy) but CL's material is far more better than Time.
