[Official] CAT 2013 Aspirants

@sahil.oberoi Arun Sharma is a good book.... Baaki join some test series for sound practice... do not overdo your practice else you would get bored pretty soon... There is also a CAT Bank by Gajendra Kumar... Have not used it much but found it good.

1. Use Wren and Martin improve on your basic grammar
2. Read the newspaper (especially articles beyond your area of expertise and your general interest)
3. Whenever you read focus on contextual vocabulary (understanding what a word means using the context of what is being said)
4. Practice what you learn (you might want to try the link given in my signature)

PM me for further queries/doubts

Aisa kya hai un mein jo kitabon mein nahi milega...?????/

Can any one provide me link to some kind of timetable for cat preparation .

Guys can any one tell me how many hours studies required for the preparation other then coaching (minimum) ???????

This question is not generally supposed to ask.
It depends on you, how much time you take to grasp things.
you may assign more time to the subject/area at which you are weak... ATB

TIME handouts and Aimcats are more than enough for DI-LR preparation,
For VA, refer Arun Sharma and Pagalguy VA Preparation section. it is indeed very useful.
And for QA, I'd suggest you to practice from Quantum CAT and PG preparation Threads ...

A student took examination in 6 papers. The Marks are in the ratio 2:3:4:5:6:7. Total marks of all these papers = 60% of the maximum marks. In how many papers he scored more than 50% marks?
@tmohan02 Not an appropriate thread to ask this question....There's a separate one for QA....Anyways just this one time-->

Let the marks in each paper-90 (just so that it cancels with 27x later on)
He scored 60% of 540 (total marks in all subj. combined)
2x+3x+4x+5x+6x+7x= 60% of 540
or x=12
so he scores more than 50% (i.e. >45) in 4 subjects

No, they do not come up with Solutions, though you may request for their solutions to TIME faculty . they generally have solutions for all handouts. :)

Dude, as per my experience I am sharing with you following:If your budget is tight, go for testfunda material. Its awesome for all the sections. They provide nice discounts too. You will get the material along with mocks within Rs. 5000. I have compared it with TIME and if not better, it is at par with TIME. Every concept is explained in detail with illustrative examples. Good for starters. If you want to go for books, then for quants go with Quantum CAT by Sarvesh Verma. Solutions for all ques are provided. Nice book. For DI/LR you may go with Arun Sharma. For VA, frankly speaking there is no such book or material which will prepare you totally for this section. You may go with Arun Shrama but apart from that you have to take lots of efforts to excel in this section. Read newspapers, novels, magazines, wikipedia and anything you could lay your hands on.Hope I have helped you. Get back for any more queries..ATB!!
Thanks a lot...
My budget is not tight at all...
I earn so i can spend as much on studies without any objection...

I just want best material for studying rest it all depends on the individual...:):)
Thanxx..and ATB
