The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at IIT Roorkee amidst colourful vibrancy and great patriotic fervour. The celebration commenced with the arrival of the Honorable Director Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi who proceeded to inspect the guard of honour presented to him by the young and enthusiastic NCC cadets. A soulful rendition of “Kulgeet” followed the guard of honour ceremony. The director emphasised on the importance of paying respects to the souls of the freedom fighters and soldiers who laid down their lives for the motherland. He further mentioned how important it is for us to stop discriminating people on the basis of religion, race, cast or colour in order to be independent in the true sense. The students of Adarsh Bal Niketan School and Anushruti Vidyalaya won the hearts of everyone with their vibrant and memorable cultural performances.
The event concluded withthe singing of the National Anthem and roars of “Bharat Mata ki Jai!”.

I got mail regarding refund but money is not credit in my account yet. Please find the solution of it and clarify the issue and i already sent the mail to official id regarding this but didn't get any reply from your side.
DoMS, IITR presents the newsletter “DoMS MONTHLY” for August. The newsletter is a culmination of articles written by the students of the department that chronicles the vital events which were conducted in the department from July to August. It also explores the stimulating developments happening in the country, across the globe, and also briefs about the recent achievements of our budding managers.
EXUBERANCE, the Sports meet of DoMS, IITR kick-started on 20th August 2019. The inaugural ceremony was marked by the esteemed presence of the honorable Head Of Department, Dr. M.K. Barua. He highlighted the need for active participation in all the games along with maintaining the sportsmanship throughout the meet.
This was followed by the lightening of the lamp by Dr.Barua as a mark of prayer for the grand success of the event.

Two events Table tennis and PUBG were organized on Day1 of Exuberance, 2019. The seniors outperformed the juniors in the singles game of table tennis. Noteworthy performances of L.Ravi and Lakshay Tyagi kept the juniors stay afloat in the game leading them to semis. It was an equal showdown in doubles game of table tennis as two teams from each junior and seniors steered into the semis. Juniors bounced back by winning in Squad mode of PUBG but the exceptional show put up by Rahul Gaur from seniors ended the hopes of juniors in Solo mode.
Another cliffhanging episode was witnessed as Day 2 of EXUBERANCE got concluded. Chess and Pool were played by the students with intense ardour. The wise and well-thought moves of the students reflected their innate astuteness proving their mettle as future managers.
The competition is intensifying day by day as Day 3 of EXUBERANCE got over. Seniors were in command in three out of the four games that were played. They knocked it out of the park in Foosball and Carrom. This came way out of the left field for the juniors. The finals of Chess saw Shubham from seniors winning the game. Both the seniors and juniors had a neck and neck in Pool as Namit, Saksham from juniors and Sashwat, Prakhar from seniors entered the semis.
The excitement is reaching its peak as EXUBERANCE has completed 4 days. The exhilarating game of Badminton started off with avid participation from students. Foosball finals were conquered by Nadim and Simonto from seniors. Saksham from juniors had a glorious victory in the finals of Pool.
Avenir is the Annual Business Conclave of DoMS, IITR. The event is marked by the presence of prolific speakers from the industry and academia who provide their insights to all the budding managers.

DoMS, IITR had the great pleasure of hosting an interactive session with Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan from IIM Bangalore. During the session, he emphasized the vitality of frugal innovations for our nation’s growth. By citing real-life examples, the session turned out to be an eye-opener for the students. He also urged the students to draw lessons from these examples to surmount India’s challenges.
The Q&A session that followed gave a golden opportunity for the students to clear their doubts from a man of such intellect.
Mr. Vidhu Saxena, a senior product manager at Housing.com delivered a talk on the topic “The Digital Product” at DoMS, IITR. He talked about the intensity of the growth of internet usage in different aspects of the business. He also described his experiences as a product manager involved with many distinguished organizations. The session turned out to be an inspiring and knowledge enriching one.
Mr. Vidhu Saxena, an alum of IIT Roorkee, completed his B. Arch. in 2006. Thereafter, he worked as a product manager in many reputed organizations. He also completed his PGPBM from IIM Trichy.

In a session hosted by DoMS, IITR, students got a chance to interact with Mr. Amit Jain, Associate Vice President- HR & Training at PeopleStrong. He provided his insights about the radical changes in technology that have caused a shift in the field of management. He specified the tools like zippie and HR chatbot Jinie that has redefined the whole approach of HR. The session turned out to be an eye-opener for the students of MBA. He was accompanied by Ms. Subhagi Arora, Senior manager HR- PeopleStrong.
