What are the programs offered by IBS?

IBS offers the following Programs:

  • 2-year full time MBA program at IBS Hyderabad, IBS Dehradun, IBS Jaipur and IBS Bangalore (off campus of IFHE Hyderabad).
  • 2-year full time PGPM (Postgraduate Program in Management) at 5 IBS campuses - Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune
  • 4-year Ph. D program (Full Time/ For working executives) at IBS Hyderabad, IBS Bangalore.

Eligibility

For MBA & PGPM program

  • Graduation (any discipline) with 50% and above marks with medium of instruction as English. All applicants should have completed a minimum 15 years of education (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4). For eligibility criterion, the aggregate percentage of marks secured in all the subjects of all the years shall be taken into account.
  • Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation have to submit the TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS score by May 31, 2024.
  • Applicants in their final year bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements (including practical examinations / viva / assignments) before May 31, 2024. The last date for submission of proof of graduation is November 01, 2024.
  • The scrutiny of eligibility criteria will commence from August 2024 onwards. Hence, the onus of ensuring that they satisfy the eligibility criteria rests solely with the candidates. Any inaccurate information, misleading information or omission may result in withdrawal of admission offer and the fee paid by the candidate is non-refundable in such instances. For any clarification on eligibility criteria, please contact IBS Admissions Office, Hyderabad only.

For Ph.D Program in Management (Full Time / For working executives)

  • Graduation (any discipline) with 50% and above marks with medium of instruction as English and
  • Postgraduation in Management (full time with specialization in Marketing/ Finance/ Human Resource Management/ Operations from an UGC approved University) with 55% and above marks or
  • Postgraduation (full-time) in Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Statistics, and Mathematics or in an allied discipline from a UGC recognized University in India or abroad with 55% and above marks. Candidates who are offered admission are required to undertake the first year MBA courses as a prerequisite to continue in the PhD program or
  • A Professional qualification like CFA/ CA/ CWA/ CS with 55% and above marks.
  • All applicants should have completed a minimum 17 years of regular education (on 10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 basis).
  • Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation and / or postgraduation have to submit TOEFL / NELT / IELTS score by May 31, 2024.
  • Applicants who have completed their Graduation / Postgraduation on part-time, distance mode or online mode are not eligible for Ph.D Program.

For Ph.D Program in Economics (Full Time)

Graduation with 50% and above marks And Postgraduation in Economics or allied discipline with 55% and above marks.

  2. Is IBSAT 2023 Test a common entrance for all programs of IBS?

Yes. IBSAT is conducted every year for admission to all programs of IBS. It is a 2hr Computer Based Test. IBSAT 2023 test is scheduled in the 4th week of December 2023.

  1. Exemption from IBSAT-2023 test for applicants of MBA/PGPM program

The candidates who wish to pursue MBA/PGPM program can apply with scores from 2021 onwards of GMAT™/CAT/ NMAT by GMAC™/XAT.

Following candidates are exempted from writing IBSAT-2023 test

  • GMAT™ with score of 500 and above
  • CAT with score of 60 percentile and above
  • NMAT by GMAC™ with 150 score and above
  • XAT with 60 percentile and above

IBS Offers IBSAT-2023 Test scholarships for top performers. Hence candidates applying with scores of GMAT, CAT, NMAT and XAT are advised to appear for IBSAT 2023 test to be considered for Scholarships.

However they have to attend the selection process scheduled in the month of February/March, 2024.

  1. Exemption from IBSAT-2023 test for applicants of Ph.D program

Following candidates are exempted from writing IBSAT-2023 test

  • M.Phil degree holders
  • UGC Net/JRF/CSIR-NET/SLET/GATE
  • GMAT™ with score of 500 and above
  • CAT with score of 60 percentile and above
  • IFHE Alumni with 3 years of Industry experience

However they have to attend the selection process scheduled in the month of March/April, 2024.

  1. What is the pattern of IBSAT test or is it similar to the CAT or the GMAT™?

IBSAT is an aptitude test. The duration of the exam is two hours. The paper is divided into four sections Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability and Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation.

IBSAT paper has 140 questions in total which are multiple choice questions with NO negative marking

Verbal Ability : 50

Reading Comprehension : 30

Quantitative Aptitude : 30

Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation : 30

  1. Will you provide any Mock Tests?

Yes. Mock Tests will be provided for the candidates to familiarize with IBSAT 2023 test. These mock tests will be available on www.ibsindia.org from July, 2023 onwards.

  1. What is the last date for applying for IBSAT 2023?

The last date for applying for IBSAT 2023 is 3rd week of December 2023.

  1. My CAT / GMATTM / NMAT by GMACTM/ XAT test results will be announced only in January 2024. Can I still apply?

Yes, you have to apply before 3rd week of December 2023. However, you have provision to update your scores online on or before January 31, 2024. On updating of scores, a selection process call letter will be issued in the month of January 2024.

The IBSAT 2023 results will be declared in the first week of January 2024.

  • In addition, students have to pay Rs.10,000 as refundable Caution Deposit with the first installment of Tuition Fee.
  • The candidates selected for the MBA program of IBS Dehradun and IBS Jaipur who hail from the respective state will be awarded a fee concession of Rs.50,000/-. The fee concession will be given in five equal installments. The students have to produce a domicile certificate from the Tahsildar / MRO/ Municipality Office. The complete details will be given in the student handbook.

PH.D Program @ IBS Hyderabad & Bangalore:

  • PhD Program (Full Time / For working executives): Selected candidates have to pay Rs.40,000/- towards Admission fee. Program fee is Rs. 1.2 Lakhs per annum.

  • Full Time PhD students have to pay only Rs. 40,000 towards admission fee. They get full waiver of semester fee of Rs. 60,000 per semester for 8 semesters subject to satisfactory academic performance.

  1. Scholarships

IBS offers IBSAT-2023 scholarships to the top performers in the IBSAT test to be held in the 3rd week of December, 2023. Candidates applying for admission to MBA/PGPM program and appearing for IBSAT test in December 2023 are only eligible to be considered for scholarship. IBS offers scholarships for top performers in the following categories:-

  • Wards of Defense Personnel (Serving / Retired) from Army, Airforce, Navy and Paramilitary forces.

Does AICTE/UGC recognize IBS programs?

  • IBS Hyderabad is a constituent of IFHE (ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education), a Deemed–to-be- University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 and IBS Bangalore (off campus of IFHE Hyderabad).

  • IBS Dehradun & IBS Jaipur campuses are recognized by UGC & their respective State Legislatures.

  • IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai, IBS Pune are independent professional institutes offering PGPM. They are neither affiliated to nor are off-campus centers of any university.

  2. What are Selection Briefings?

The selection briefings are a series of focused seminars to provide the applicants an insight into the IBS Selection Process. During the briefings, faculty from IBS will answer applicants’ questions and advise them on preparing for the Selection Process. Applicants will be allotted the date and time of the session.

Selection Briefings will be conducted in the 2nd week of January 2024.

Candidates qualified based on IBSAT 2023/ CAT/GMATTM/NMAT by GMACTM / XAT are called for the Selection process at IBS Hyderabad campus scheduled in the month of February / March, 2024.

Ph.D Program:

Candidates qualified based on IBSAT 2023/ CAT/GMATTM are called for the Selection process at IBS Hyderabad campus scheduled in the month of March 2024.

Is hostel accommodation available for the students?

Hostel facility is available at IBS Hyderabad and IBS Jaipur only.

The MBA program at IBS Hyderabad is a fully residential program. The students will be allotted non-A/c Single rooms with a common washroom facility. The accommodation and mess expenses have to be borne by the student.

At IBS Jaipur

Hostel facility is available at IBS Jaipur campus. The accommodation & mess charges have to be borne by the student.

Hostel facility is not available at other IBS campuses. However the campus administration will assist the students in getting a suitable off campus accommodation nearby the respective campus. The living expenses in these cities vary from Rs 10,000 – Rs 15,000 per month.

Is there any financial assistance for IBS Programs?

The candidates selected for IBS Programs avail educational loans from Public / Private Sector Banks.

ICFAI Business School (IBS) conducts Free NMT every year with prize money in the interest of students to practice for the final IBSAT 2023 Test.

Register for the National IBSAT mock Test and successfully take the test. Tests should be taken between the specified days only. The ICFAI Business School server will serve as the official timekeeper for the Promotion. Each individual may only initiate the exam once.

The email address you provide will be our primary means of communication with you. All entries must be submitted in English. Once you submit your entry, no further changes can be made to the entry even if there is time remaining in the Promotion Term.

Judging:-

Entrants with the top 100 rankers will be given prizes. Winners’ names will be declared no later than after 7 days of the Last day of the National Mock Exam. There is no random selection of entries.

Prizes distributed after verification of 10th certificate and graduation marks sheets (checking of age and year of passing and percentage in graduation).

50% compulsory in graduation (if passed) and in second year if passing out in 2024. Official Rules:-

The IBSAT cut offs are announced individually by each of the 9 ICFAI B-schools (IBS) in the shortlisting process after the IBSAT exam result is declared.

The IBS campuses cut off 2024 are based on IBSAT 2023 percentile score.

IBSAT cut offs 2023 are likely to remain more or less the same like last year IBSAT cut offs.

  1. One mark for each correct answer
  2. No negative marking On the basis of the score obtained by candidates in the IBSAT exam.
