@paragangira : i Am a bit surprised u havent taken IILM gsm as an option,u should take it into account as well if you are looking for a good return on Investment

When i was doing college hunting for MAt(My percntile was 98.3) i had calls from all the colleges
Alliance -Is very costly and i dont see why i would pay soo much fees whn i dont have much difference in placement companies nd packages
pls understand one thing honestly all the best mat coleges have a package of around 4-4.5 as average and the highest totally depends on u
So how do u choose the best college for u is entirely on the basis of what u give priority
For me let me tell u how i approached
i saw return on investment
what companies visited campus and whether they recruited students from there or not
@paragangira another very good option that i am surprised u dint get a call from is
Balajee institute of modern management -I think you dint apply to it as one of the college to send ur mat score to
same problem with IILM gsm that is why u dint get calls from these two colleges
BIMM Like amity has an intake problem ,so being a much better college than Alliance,it is not great an option considering that the number of students they take every year
is very high so focus on the individual student is less
IILM GSm is not a big brand in colleges,cause they do not market themselves like an amity but their advantage which is called IGSM Advantage is their student attention that they give with breakage of 60 students each in marketing finance and general pgdm every student gets a mentor (faculty ) who monitors the student to the core
this thing is taken very seriously,mentors have to answer if the student performs poorly
The mentors track ur performance on a daily basis

Psg coimbatore and christ bangalore i assume u wish to do mba in south itslf
college comparison is againt the rules of pg

PSG COIMBATORE is known for their academic standards which they have maintained over the years ,Quality of education and career is much guaranteed when u have a psg tag
Christ has the advantage of being in a commercial hub like bangalore,housed on hosur road ,the college has been a brand always but they went down heavily after being named in the list of 44 derecognised universities
plus their different progams in mba add to the confusion

And DI and logical reasoning by Arun sharma
these books are readily available and most used by Cat aspirants
also solve 10 year solved mat papers

Hi Clairvoyant... I scored 99+ percentile in feb 2012 MAT. I did not apply for any colleges then. i m planning to take up feb 2013 MAT and TANCET 2013 to try my luck with PSG IM coimbatore. Can you pls share more info on their programs. I believe they have both MBA and PGDM out of which one is the Anna university program and the other some international univ's one. Any idea which program is better considering my 3+ yrs work exp. I m not looking at any other colleges as i intend to study in coimbatore and PSG is the only descent option here.
@aspiring_s anna i i am not very well aware of the two programs that you have mentioned,i think it would be best to contact the college admission cell directly and may be talk to the seniors there
but anyday i would prefer going for the anna university program since their reputation is unparallel but thats my opinion which is based on limited knowledge about psg

Why are you only taking these 2 exams, with three years of experience you may end up in a really good college if you perform well.

All of them are one of the best colleges available under MAT. The concern is at this point of time, none of them would be open for admission..
Alliance, Christ- best ones, but costly. NIILM again costly..
NDIM, UPES is a good college, with average fees. Check for UPES courses go for it if you are sure you want to make your career in that stream.
AIMA should be ruled out. Not upto the mark.

BIMM I agree is a very good college, should be in the best ones list.. Also ITM Mumbai, SCMS Cochin, SIES Mumbai can be added to the list.
IILM GSM - I would say I personally don't recommend that.. We love our college and will be always fond of it and see all the positives, but we haven't seen the other side, so its better not to be biased here.

@cutie.pie Hey.....As for the MAT , w have option for 5 colleges only....So for the other colleges we have to fill the forms separately.....I have applies for 3rd Dec MAT . What is expected %tile required for UPES and Christ college. I got 1.5 Year work Ex in a MNC. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You may apply to as many colleges as you like. These 5 colleges which we mention in MAT form just means that your scores will be sent to them, again for these colleges also you will have to buy prospectus/form, pay the fees like for the rest of the colleges.
I don't know much about UPES. Please check the course they offer, its very very specific. If you are sure about it then only go for it.
Christ will give you a call above 90-95%tile or maybe sometimes i can go higher. Now again it cant be predicted, i would advise you to concentrate on giving your best shot,, maximize your score, be balanced and don't leave any section, not even GK.

It surely is a difficult decision... make the most o the options you have.. also go for Dec MAT.. visit college and talk to seniors and some help we can offer here with the little knowledge we have.
