Is the question a(n-1)*a(n+1) = a(n^2+1) or a(n^2)+1 ?
Please clarify..thanks

a(n-1)*a(n+1) = (an)^2+1
n a ka base types...

yup!A box B1 has 299 identical cards. These cards are divided into three heaps and placed in boxes B1, B2 and B3 such that each box has at least one card. What is the probability that B1 has more cards than B2 and B3 put together?
74 / 297 ?

If |x-4|+|y-4| = 4, Then how many integer value can the set (x,y) have?

Solve it using graph. answer should be 16

is it 610????
The odds in favour of India winning a match against Pakistan are 3 : 2. What is the probability that India wins the series of 3 matches if the probability of a tie is 0.2?

for india
3/5*2/10*2/10 + 3/5*3/5*2/10 + 3/5*3/5*2/5 + 3/5*3/5*3/5
24/1000 + 72/1000 + 144/1000 + 216/1000
0.456 india winning
0.544 india losing

for pakistan
2/5*2/5*2/5 + 2/5*2/5*3/5 + 2/5*2/5*2/10 + 2/5*2/10*2/10
64/1000 + 96/1000 + 32/1000 + 16/1000
0.208 pak winning
0.792 pak losing

4 cases
WTT , WWT, WWL , WWW aur kaunsa case he
@rkshtsurana @gs4890 OA 0.72
Odds in favour of India wining = 3 : 2
Probability that India wins = 3/5 = 0.6
Probability of a tie = 0.2
Probability of Pakistan jeeta hai = 1 − 0.6 – 0.2 = 0.2

For India to win the
i) 3 wins for India
ii) 2 wins and 1 loss for India
iii) 2 wins for India and 1 tie
iv) 1 win for India and 2 ties

=>3 wins = 0.6 × 0.6 × 0.6 = 0.216

=>2 wins and 1 loss = 0.6 × 0.6 × 0.2 = 0.072

The two wins can come out of 3 matches in 3C2 ways = 3 ways
Hence .... 3 × 0.072 = 0.216

=> 2 wins and 1 tie = 0.6 × 0.6 × 0.2 = 0.072

The two wins can come out of 3 matches in 3C2 ways = 3 ways
Hence 2 wins and 1 tie = 3 × 0.072 = 0.216

=> 1 win and 2 ties = 0.6 × 0.2 × 0.2 = 0.024

The one win can come out of 3 matches in 3C1 ways = 3 ways
2 wins and 1 tie = 3 × 0.024 = 0.072

Total probability = 0.216 + 0.216 + 0.216 + 0.072 = 0.72
