A Metro train form Mehrauli to Gurgaon has capacity to board 900 people. The fare charged (in `) is defined by the function f =[54-x/32]^2 where 'X' is the number of the people per trip. How many people per trip will make the marginal revenue equal to zero?
A. 1728
B. 576
C. 484
D. 364
OA is B

total fare=x*[54-x/32]^2
upon differentiating
x*2*[54-x/32]*-1/32+[54-x/32]^2=0
=>x=576
upon differentiating
x*2*[54-x/32]*-1/32+[54-x/32]^2=0
=>x=576

differentiate to maine kia, par itne saf suthre form mein isliye likha ki sidhe wolfram pe dal dun :splat:, ab wolf bhaiya galat thode honge :mg:
How many numbers between 200 and 1200 can be formed with digits 0,1,2,3 (no repetition of digits allowed)
I approached like this:
2.3P2 -- 3 digit numbers (without the digit 0) and one 4 digit number (1023) but the OA is 14.
Can you please tell which number am i missing ?

bring it on

@krum said:(25*6+5+4+3+2+1)*2/900=>165*2/900=>11/45ye aya mera, to maine 11/36 bol diya @pankaj1988 exp. hai kya?
ye kya kiya??? :O

They promise each other that they would be at the club between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm. The one who arrived first will wait for 5 min or until 5:30 pm. If the person who arrived later arrived within this waiting period, they would meet, otherwise they would be no meeting. What is the probability that they meet?1/3,2/9,8/27,11/36
old question..
draw a graph..
u ll get 22/36*2 = 11/36
draw a graph..
u ll get 22/36*2 = 11/36

Bhai mere paas jo explanation hai usme graphical approach hai...
I dont have any accessory to attach the copy...But I will try my best to make it lucid..Just follow the steps..
Suppose the two friends arrive x minutes and y minutes past 5:00 pm, where 0
Two friends meet when |x-y|
Step1: Draw a square of coordinates O(0,0),B(30,0),E(0,30),D(30,30)
step2: Mark points A(5,0),C(30,25),F(0,5),G(25,30)
step3:sum of areas of triangle will consists of regions(|x-y|>5) when two friends do not meet..so area of triangle ABC+GEF=625
Area of square=900
So the probability when both do not meet=625/900
So the probability when they meet=1-625/900=11/36

with 2 _ _= 6 nos
with 3 _ _=6 nos
1023, 1032= 14

Total fair is F(x)=x*f(x)
Marginal Revenue is given by: F'(x)=0
x*2*(54-x/32)(-1/32)+(54-x/32)^2=0
x=576

Confusion is between : 52 X 36 X 22 X 10
