[Official] Singapore Management University (SMU)

@saurabh231

thanks a lot detailed response.. will prepare accordingly

@icespray you done with the interview? how was it?

just got over some time backk.. exactly what u have predicted.. but they are little apprehensive that i will have close to just 2.8 years of experience if i join

@icespray from what i have read about SMU in various forums oner web, average experience over the years in SMU has been around 6 - 8 years, one of the major reasons that the students passing from SMU have got salaries compared (if not better) to NUS and NTU ..
@saurabh231 true.. but i thought maybe since SMU is not as old as NUS or NTU they might still allow some lax in age limit. But they, as expected, as perfectionists!

Hi anyone for MITB FS Aug'13 admit

@ankrulz4004 I got the admit for MITB FS Aug'13.

Are you applying to some other schools too or will be joining SMU ?

Hi @ssbsag .. have you joined the SMU MITB programme ? If yes, let us know about any info we need to know such as accomodation, scholarships, school environment etc....

@Zazen : Planning to join SMU...wats ur plan...

Ya.. I will be joining SMU.

@saurabh231 - I am applying to SMU MBA 2014 intake.
My profile is GMAT 690 5 years work-ex in Automotive product development role.
Good Acads and good EC.
I will be submitting my application tomorrow and I want to know one thing.
Should we courier any document to SMU?
I have my referrals emailed to the SMU.

Anything else that has to be sent physically?
@Visweswarareddy You have to send them your original transcript and 2 photographs via courier.. but I guess you can send it later i.e. after your admission decision is made ..
@saurabh231 - Thanks man. How was the i/v? what did they ask and discuss?
Are u accepting the offer?

@Visweswarareddy it should be a very standard interview .. no curveballs. This is how my interview went:
Tell us one good thing about leading a large team (i lead a team of 25 members)
Tell us one bad thing about it
Describe yourself in 3 words and give an example for each
Name one Asian who you look upto and why
What would be your biggest challenge if you join SMU
How would you overcome that challenge
Why MBA now and why from Singapore
How would you contribute to the class
Any questions for us
I think that was all - about 15 - 20 mins of discussion

I have accepted the offer ..

How much time do u get to accept the offer after the admission is made? and how much should u pay to confirm the offer? I have given interviews at IIM's and few US schools too. So i would like to know how much time will i have to make a decision.

The entire process is very speedy. If you qualify for the interview, your interview would be scheduled within a week of application submission. Final result would be declared within 2 - 3 days of interview.

I got my admit offer on 25th Jan and had to respond to the offer by 4th Feb.

One needs to pay 10% of the tution fee i.e 5700 SGD to confirm his / her place

😞 that's bad... its close to 2L. I would be in a fix in that case.. lets see.. first i will have to convert it and then think about this.. anyways thanks man...
@Visweswarareddy well SMU application deadline is still a long way.. may be you can wait for your other results before applying into SMU.. just a thought ..
@saurabh231 - Applying later is a disadvantage. A large number of Indians apply and it becomes too competitive at the later stages. So the earlier the better. I dont want to take that risk. It happened with NTU and NUS too for me.
