Hi, your profile seems fine to apply but I cannot comment on your chances as that would be the decision of the Admissions Commitee.
Also you would need to havea score that meets our requirements as we do not shortlist candidates without a score
Thanks Shweta

Hi, I cannot categorically comment on whtehr you should apply or not. That is a chance that you have to take if you are willing
I cannot guarantee that even after getting 85%ile in the SPJAT you would get a call as the decision is in the Admissions Commitees hands.
It is upto u to deicde
thanks Shweta
Hello madam

I am planning to write Aptitude test of SPJAIN. my acads r as follows X: 82% X11: 63% Engineering: 70.40% work experience: 15 months(software engineer) if suppose i get a 85%ile in spjain aptitude test, wat r my chances of getting a call? Inconsistent performance in academics is my major concern. Hi, 1. Yes CAT 06 scores are valid for the May 08 intake 2. WEll the scors are looked at while shortlisting candidates for the evaluations, but they would also be looked before taking a final decision regarding offering admission 3. 3-4yrs
thanks Shweta
Hi Rutty,
Can you please clarify the foll: 1>Does CAT 06 scores are applicable for June 08 intake. 2>Are the scores are considered only to shortlist the candidates in the first round or do they play any role in the final selection of the candidate prior admission? 3>What is the average workexp of the candidates?
Hi, yes from the May 08 intkae we have stopped accepting XAT scores. You would have to wither take the GMAT or SPJAT as we are only accepting CAT/GMAT/SPJAT scores
Thanks Shweta
hi,
For the last admission process of jan intake, SP Jain Dubai & Singapore, was considering XAT scores. But i checked it now it doesnt mention anything about XAT. My XAT %ile is 95.28 and would like to apply on this score. Am i eligible for the same.
You have done everything in the right manner. pls do not worry.
Just carry the right admit card with u. It should be fine
Thanks Shweta
Hi Shweta,
I have just scheduled for my evaluation on 10th Feb at 10:30 am. By mistake, I did not write my complete application no. (20124-IT) and got the appointment in the first attempt with the application no. 20124 only. After realizing my mistake , I again entered the same details with my correct and complete application no. and got an appointment again.
I have sent a reply to [email protected] quoting the mail containing the incorrect admit card I have received. I apologized for the mistake and requested them to please ignore the incorrect appointment.
Do I need to do something else or will it suffice? I have also received the correct admit card. Please reply . It has made me very anxious.
Once we receive your SPJAT result we would update your application accordingly and the same would be looked at once again by the Admissions Commitee which will consider the best of the scores.
Thanks Shweta
Hi,
I have already applied for the GMBA program offered by you and wish to get through the May 2008 intake. I had appeared for CAT 2007 but got a bad score of 71%-ile. I would also be appearing for the Aptitude Test on the 2nd on Feb at Mumbai. Just wanted to know if my CAT score would prove to be a negative point in my applcation screening considering I am still to appear for the SP Jain Aptitude Test.
Also after I get the Aptitude score, will the best of the two or an average would be considered?
Well I cannot comment on your chancesas that is the decision of the Admissions Commitee - which will look at your overall profile before taking a final call
Thanks Shweta
hi there,, i am just wondering about my chances of getting a call after i appear in spjat(the aptitude test) with the following proflie.. 10th 81 % 12th 56% B.E. 76% (above 70% in every semester) university postion holder in 2 semesters
i was terribly ill during my 12th class ,,was hospitalised just some days before the borad exams. i was an excellent student academically as well as in other activities in both school and college.i m quite sure of myself 2 preform good in the aptitude test. i m worried about my profile...can i get a call?? please do help..
Im afraid we do not have any waitlsit no that we give to students. And being put onthe waitlist is NOT a subtle way of rejecting a candidate - as we do reject candidates outright as well.
While I cannot state the exact reason as to why you are waitlisted - it could be any of the factors - work ex, acads, extra curricualrs However you need not take the SPJAT as your CAT score is fine and meets our cut off.
I guess you will have to be patient and wait for sometime as this waitlist is reviewed from time to time and there maybe a change in your status if the Admission Commitee so decides.
Thanks Shweta
i have applied for June 08 intake ( Investment banking )...
i have been put on a wait list...
My profile :
CAT : 91.85 percentile X : 84 XII : 86 Graduation ( Engg ) : 70 ( University topper ) Work Ex: 1 yr 8 months (Manufacturing sector )
Decent extra curriculars and achievements...
My application result states i have been kept on a wait list since i fall short in some of their admission criteria. but it does not mention waitlist no. or which are the criteria where i lag behind?? is it because i have applied for IB, but have no relevant work ex in finance domain? or could it be because of my pathetic CAT score?? should i take SPJAT?? if i get a good score, will it improve my chances?? also if u r put on a wait list, is it a subtle way of saying you are rejected ?? are there any chances of waitlist getting converted to call??
Yes we will update your aplication withthe SPJAT score once the results are declared. Applications will then be put forth to the Admissions Commitee which will then take a decision whther to shortlist a candidate or not.
While your profile seems fine I cannot comment on your chances as it would be the decision of the Admissions Commitee.
Thanks Shweta
Hi shweta,
I have submitted the application form on the 21st Jan'08 for GMBA (PMM) May'08 intake. The site mentions that it takes around a month before the status is updated. Meanwhile I have registered for the SPJAT due 2nd Feb'08. Considering I clear the cut-offs, what next? Do the scores get sent to the institute directly so as to update my application form?
My details are as follows:
Work Exp: 13 months in a management position. Worked as Manager-Business Development for a start-up firm incubated under IIT Bombay. Considerable amount of marketing-planning exp especially in interaction with state nodal and government agencies.
Always been involved in sports and cultural events from school through college to graduation. Been elected to several positions in various councils in graduation. Academically ranked high in class.
Now with reference to above profile and based on previous recruitments to the GMBA PMM program, How long before I get any communication from the institute informing about a possible evaluation?
i had applied to the gmba intake of dec'07 and i was kept on a waitlist for a long time and finally was rejected. upon asking i was told that my academic scores were not good enough. in regards to this i had also written a mail @ help desk, howevver i didnt get any reply.
well i understand these are not best of the scores to apply with, however i feel except fybcom and sybcom scores which are internal college exams, i have decent scores and should not be considered as low.
i had applied with 640 Gmat score. Have decent extra curricular activities and 4+ yrs of work experience. My application id for dec'07 intake was 17903 - WM.
i am also considering of giving the spjat test to better my chances. i just wanted to know whether i stand a genuine chance, considering the above scores and profile and should i apply again. any advice will be highly appreciated.
1. Yes it is for an hour from 12 noon to 1 pm 2. It is for 100 marks 3. No, this time it is a paper based test 4. No 5. No 6. While I cannot give u the exact break up - we do test you on Maths, Logic, Verbal, GK etc
thanks Shweta
Thanx, but do i need to pay for 2000 + 2500(i.e 4500/-) for giving test or only 2000. Also what is the last date for paying the fees for written test?
SP JAIN APTITUDE TEST FEB 2ND 2008 This post is to answer all the queries and doubts that you may have regarding the SPJAT. 1. Firstly, it is a PAPER BASED test and not a computer based test as it was in the last intake. 2. The paper is divided into various sections which will be based on the areas that we test you on 3. Areas that we test you on would be broadly - Quantitative, Verbal, Logic, GK 4. The test is for ONE hour from 12 noon to 1 pm 5. Total marks - 100. There would be NEGATIVE MARKING and this would be taken into account while calculating your total score 6. There are NO SECTIONAL CUT OFFS - we expect your OVERALL SCORE to meet out cut off hope this has clarified your doubts. Thanks.
hi swetha I think the placemnt for the Jan 07 batch is arnd 98 % ony......may i pl know why the inst was not able to show 100%??????? Also pl tell me from wher i can get info abt companies who recruited Product mktg students .......the website doesnt carry this info......
Hi, Firstly the right email id to address such queries is [email protected] and not helpdesk - that is our technical dept id
While 10,12 and final yr degree scores are imp we epxpect most students to have ATLEAST a first class in ALL yrs of their academics
That could have been the probable cause of your not being shortlisted. However the Admissions COmmitee looks atthe overall profile of candidates before deciding on shortlisitng them. I also wish to inform you that we do recevie some exceptional applications and hence competition for places is very tough.
You do not need to improve your GMAT score according to me -a s I feel your GMAT acores was not the reason of your being shortlisted.
However you may takea chance and apply for this intake - I cannot comment on your chances as that would be the decision of the Admissions Commitee.
Thanks Shweta

You only have to pay Rs 2000/- for the test. the evaln fee of Rs 2500/- has to only be paid if you are shortlisted for the evaluations.
You should have already registered for the test by now. IF not then you would be able to just send the payemnt to our office. If you have registered for the test then the last date to send the fees is 27th Jan 08
Thanks Shweta

Hi, We have yet to update the same. It will be done shortly.
There is comprehensive listo f companies where our studnets have been placed . It is available underthe Placements section on our website. There is no specific list spec wise as the companies maybe common to more than 1 spec
thanks Shweta
