I wish to apply for S.P.Jain's May 2008 intake for the GHRM Programme, following are my details and a few queries:
a) Xth - 78.93
b) XIIth - 58.33 (This may not be particularly good)
c) B.M.M. (Bachelors' in Mass Media) - 71.91 (Spl. Advertising)
I also have close to 20 months on exp. in HR.
I would rate my extra-curricular participation & achivements as avg.
CAT %ile - 82.40 (which again be comparatively low)
What are the chances of my application. I understand that the decision lies purely with the Admission Commitee. However, I request you to revert with your genuine opinion on my profile based on your expertise.
Certain other queries:
a) I learnt quite late about the aptitude test conducted by S.P.Jain and since it is to be held this Saturday, I may not be well prepared for the same. Are there any chances of more tests to be conducted for the May 2008 intake?
b) Does the college judge profiles on different parameters for different specialisations? As most of the students (at least in the forum) seem from IT background and interested in finance/marketing. Hence, are parameters different for students interested in HRM?
c) What is the usual intake (in terms of no.) for HRM? (as it is a newly introduced specialisation)

My CAT score is 89+ %ile and i have also worked on BSE for 2 years for a project along with that i am B.Sc. Staistics, with a moderate extra curricular activities,
What are my chances of getting selected for the IB stream.
Does SP jain give chances for the IB stream only for the Business people or people from similar background?
If i do have a chance can you let me know what is the profile of the class for the IB last year.

Your profile seems alright to apply - however the 12th std scores are a bit low.
Your CAT score is fine as it meets our cut off and in my opinion you need not take the SPJAT.
Well the Admissions Commitee will look at the overall profile of a candidate and then decide whther he is suitable for a particular spec or not.
There are no fixed no of seats per spec. The overall intake strength would be around 280-300 across all 9 spec

Hi,
Well I cannot comment on your chances as that is the decision of the Admissions Commitee.
However we do have alot of students who apply from varied backgrounds for the IB spec and all our other spec as well.
It is not mandatory for you to be from the same background as the spec you are applying for.
You may apply to a spec of your interest.

I was planning to apply for spj's GMBA progrm. howevr i came across dat d aptitude test is on 2nd feb, n i havnt yet filled in d form, neither m i prepared for d test.. is there any oder date on wich d test could b held, before 31st march dat is d last date of forms acceptance??

We do not give specific reasons as to why a candidate has been waitlisted - it could be any of the factors - acads, work ex, entrance test score, extra curriculars.....
Your CAT score does not seem to be the reason according to me - as it meets our requirement of 80+
yes there are fair chances that a waitlist could get converted t o call - but I cannot comment on when exactly as this waitlist is reviewed by the Admissions Commitee from time to time as and when need be and students found suitable are shortlisted.
I guess you will just have to be patient and wait a while.

I have one question...Suppose I have my interview on Feb 10..then when will I get final result and how many days will I get to deposit offer acceptance amount?
All I am calculating is timeframe by which I have to give acceptance amount, as my other college results might be pending.
