Firstly, pls ignore the mail that was sent to you asking you to take the test again on 1st march. This was sent to you due to oversight. You need not take the SPJAT as your apt test score meets our requirements.
your application has been processed and the status on website is correect - that you have been put on the waitlist - not because you are falling short on the APT test score but due to some otehr factors like maybe your workex, acads, extra curriculars etc.

My application number is 21777 WM. I had appeared for SPJAT on Feb 2 and my score was 85.47 percentile. However, last week I received a mail from gmba stating that my application does not meet one of the criteria ie. either I do not have a score or my score is not above the cut-off limit and therefore I could reappear for the second SPJAT on March 1. Since my score is above the cut-off limit, as per the website, I did not opt for the test second time.
Now, I received a mail from Ms Sejal Shah saying that I have been waitlisted. When I sent a further mail, she replied saying my application is still under process and also the website states that I have been waitlisted.
This has created a big confusion, whether my application is under process or whether I have been waitlisted and what was the reason for me to reappear for SPJAT again, having cleared the cut-off limit in the first time??
Could you pls clarify on all the above doubts and tell me the actual current status of my application.
Yes, the 8.5 lacs quoted below is Indian Salary (INR , In India). Most of the jobs are preferred in India therefore 60% - 70% of the students choose to come back to India and work. Would like to share some additional answers that i got. ME: How is SPJ in terms of International Exposure ?? Frnd: I would say staying in Dubai & SIngapore for 6 months each can be a great learning experience for any student. Many of us who felt we got great insights into the local culture and business styles of these to regions (GCC & APAC). As some faculty are locals and some fly down from the US , you get a fair mix of international faculty. Learning is always from a global view point where you are constantly taught about the global economic scenario and not just that of India. The biggest learning comes from the SGP (Internship) that one does in the 1st semester, where you work with the companies in these regions. Lasy but Definitely not the least, Most companies looking for cultural sensitivity and international exposure prefer SPJ over many top Indian Bschools during the recruitment season. ME: Is the ROI good enough ? Frnd: If you consider the TOP indian (2Yr) MBA Average Sa & its Feesl with that of SPJ (1Yr) you will see that SPJ is a better ROI bet than most top Bschools. I wonder why do students like you keep asking this question even after knowing that GMBA at SPJ is a 1 year curriculum. ME: How are the facilities in SPJ dubai & Singapore?? Frnd: I personally find Singapore better than DUbai , but its probably becuz the college and Hostel blocks are on the same campus. Facilities are overall GREAT to say the least. > Bloomberg > Excellent Library > Huge campus ( Like a palace) , Area to play cricket & Volleyball. > Class rooms are state of the art > Nice rooms and accomodation , No complaints yet. > Good Hygenic food. > Vending Machines for 24/7 Food availability. > 24/7 Bradband , excellent connection. > Located in the Heart of Singapore, Dubai Campus is outside city. Have a couple of friends in the current batch at SPJ and these are the following things they have to say about the Course & Placements:
ME: Who all should look at SPJ ? Frnd: SPJ is best for people with more than 3 Years of work ex. The current batch has quite a few people with less than 3 years but most of us feel that GMBA brings highest value for 3 years + students.
ME: What is the class composition like ? Frnd: The class consists of people from a variety of different domains and industry. We have mechanical engg, scientist, project managers, wealth managers , CA`s , CFA`s , chemical engg, doctors, senior managers, Business Development and ex- defense personnels in the batch.
Most students are with between 2 Yrs - 7 Yrs Work experience bracket. Its a great batch composition with only about 2% of the batch with less than 1 yr experience.
ME: How is it for people shifting from IT to Fin (i am looking at IB) ? Frnd: We often look at MBA as a good way to shift into something new. However most of us forget that companies which come in for recruitment look for RELEVANT WORK EX . So, If you are a BCOM graduate coming in for IB and then looking for a Securities research profile in Boston Analytics then you stand a much better chance to land this job as oppose to a software Engg.
So when choosing your stream please be aware of this cause companies will be taking a hard look at your profile prior to your MBA and they will discount any work irrelevant to the job.
ME: How are the placements shaping up this year ? Frnd: Plcements in SPJCM or any other Bschool out of india does not work in the Zero Day format. Typically Placements span over 2 - 3 weeks as companies have to fly down to the campus.
The placement week started 2 days back and close to 65% of the batch has already been placed, this is a remarkable performance when compared the other Bschools in the same region (NUS , NTU , INSEAD). I am not aware of the exact average but i do not know of anyone who has accepted an offer less than 8.5 Lacs so far.
There are more questions he answered but i found these to be the most relevant so far.

Post your evaluation, we suggest you check this link to check on the result of the evaluation process. It would take us 2-3 weeks post your evaluations to update the site with your status.

I got the link from where i can view my online application. But there seems to be a problem with my CLass X grade. As far as i remember i entered 69.43%. But its showing 63.43%. Can you please check the same & if possible make the change. Sorry for the trouble.

I just wanted to let u know...that the cut off for sp jaindubai for gmat is 650. A score of 530 seems to be a little less for a call.
1) we do not have to mention it on the site - we normally expect it out of students - but we also do look atthe overall profile of a candidate before taking a decision regarding shortlisting him/her
2) the waitliust is revewied from time to time as and when need be

Hi, There is no such rule where a marine engg cannot apply for our finance or mkting spec. But yes there should be some logical progression and reasoning for the switch in field.
Once you have been evaluated for a particular spec it is not possible to change your spec.

Hi, So this means that you have been shortlisted for the evaluations - this is the corect status.
Its jsut that u recd the call letter before your status was updated on the website - thats why the confusion.
As regards the change in your 10th grade score - pls email [email protected] about this and we will do the needful from our end. Pls do not forget to metnion your appln no in the email

Hi, Most likely yes they would be waitlisted however there will always be exceptions as in - we look at the overall profile and if the Admiissions Committee feels that the candidiate is lacking in the academics section but brilliant in outher areas he/she maybe shortlisted.

My profile is 10th 65.5% 12th 70.8% mbbs 55.6% 6 years work ex with 1 year uk exp and many uk certifications. 2 international medical publications GMAT 690/3.5 shortlisted for IMI executive , Greatlakes, TAPMI, ISB, IBS, IMT Ghaziabad(Executive), SIHS and a number of international colleges. admits for IMI executive till date expecting IMT Ghaziabad

Periodically (there is no specific time frame for doing so - it is done as and when the need for doing so arises) this list is reviewed and students moved to the evaluation process. Please check this website at intervals to ascertain if there has been any change in your admission status.
Is it possible for anybody to tell me why I have not been shortlisted. Please do not misunderstand me. I am just trying to ascertain why SPJain did not shortlist me. Contructive feedback is the essence of improving oneself and thats what I am looking for.
If its graduation marks as suggested by an earlier post, then please bear in mind that I am a medical doctor and marks are not easy to come by.
