[OFFICIAL] SP Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) | Dubai, Singapore, Sydney: MGB & Global MBA - Admissions 2023-24

Hi Anuj,
Please note that we look at a students profile as a whole. Hence we may be flexible on certain criteria if a student is outstanding with other factors.
As for our CAT/XAT percentile we have always maintained that it is 80 percentile (pls check our website) and it was never dropped to 75 percentile . But like I mentioend earlier we are willing to be flexible on certain aspects if a student has other redeeming factors. You may reapply for the June intake as you would have more work exprience on you by then which would push up the quality of your application.
Thank you

Hi,

Sir i want to apply for june intake of spjain dubai .My profile is as follows:-
currently i have 6 six months work ex in uk based mnc as software test engineer
i have first divison with distinction in 10th and 12th.
i am a pass out of thapar institute of engg and tech with second divison.
i have participated in various extracurricular activities.

i applied for dec intake also but got rejected.I attended ur seminar in delhi where ppl from spjain said that for clearing spjain dubai admission stage one a candidate need cat/xat 85%ile(which was changed to 75%ile later) or gmat 600.

OR as i have second divison i will automatically be rejected when i will apply for june intake
please clarify.
Anuj Mittal

Hello,
Thank you for your message. As you may have read in my reply to Anuj, while we generally require students to have a first class in theiri academic career, we could be a little flexible on certain counts if the student has an advantage in other areas as we look at the profile as a whole.

Hi,

i am concerned about the 'first class' term that you mentioned.
my engg aggregate is 57% and i have been working at as a techie from 16 months.
very good extra curicullars and my 10th and 12th % is 82. could you please elaborate on how important are academics because ive heard that sp jain gives a lot of weightage to academics.

Hi Rutty .

I am through PMM and i am joining .but as being the first batch of PMM what would u comment on Placements .......i have 1.5 yr of wrkex with S/W ......Please also comment on how will it improve my chances to get placed in singapore as we have last six months in singapore .......

tushar :)

Mam please Comment on this also..

Thanks

Hi,
Your profile sounds good. You may go ahead and apply.
All the best with your application!
Thanks

Hello,

I've got a percentile of 96.38 on CAT 2005,and a 70% + in all of my academics.
Also,I have a lot of extra curricular prizes at college and school level. However,Am no sports affinicado.I am very skilled with computers, and currently work at HCL.
Should I try applying?

Hi,
Thanks for your message. Actually this is a wrong notion that companies do not require people year round. Organisations plan their recruitments at a particular point only because most B-schools have a June intake and students graduate around that time. So there would be no issue about placing students who are graduates from the December batch.

Your placements would depend upon how you perform during the interviews.
Average salaries as mentioned on our website are about 8-9 lacs p.a. If you are from the IT sector but have specialised in BM, you may not necessarily be considered as a fresher as your previous work experience will be considered and even banks have IT requirements. Hence your knowledge in BM combined with your work experience in IT should hold you in good stead.
Hope all your concerns have been addressed.

Hi Rutty,

I got an offer for Banking Management for DEC intake

But some of my seniors told me that there might be some placement issues as it is an Odd Batch..
They said that companies generally dont require MBA ppl all round the year as it incurrs a huge overhead in terms of salary ( unlike software engineers)

I would also like to know that would I be considered as a fresher in BM (as I've pursued my engg in IT n I'm working with Infosys, Pune for about 18months). Also, what kind of package can I expect if I perform well?

I hope you will help me in this regard.

Dear madhavan,
Thank you for your message.
As of now we have not yet commenced admissions for our June 2007 intake. We should be doing so shortly and all details regarding our aptitude test, admission procedures etc would be updated on our site very soon.

We endeavour to place each and every student to the best of our ability and so far our track record has been 100% placements. The average salaries for Marketing have been about 8-9 lacs p.a. for the last batch which graduated in June 2006.

I hope all your queries are sorted.

Hi Rutty,
My name is Madhavan and Iam working in Chennai as a Software Engg. I have an experience of 30 months.
Iwas interested in the June 2007 intake of SP Jain Global MBA program.
Can you please provide me the details for the following questions?

1) When does SP Jain conduct the aptitude test for this program?
2) How is the placement scenario in India and abroad in general (I want to do specialization in Marketing)
3) The mean salary

Thanks
madam,

whats the idea of a waitlist how do students placed on a waitlist know if they would be getting admission,,, what is the idea of waitlist? do you'll even consider those in it.. as your admission is on a rolling basis..

have applied twice and have cleared all the rounds and been waitlisted on both the ocations.. not received any mail sayin i was waitlisted, was told so over the phone when i called o inquire... neither was my profiled updated on the website.

Hello,
I shall explain to you the admissions process.
Post evlauations students are placed in 3 categories Offer, Waitlist and Regret.
Students who are found to have all of the crtieria that we are looking at and meet our high requiremetns are ofered a place in our instituition.
Students who do not meet any of the criteria that we need are rejected.
Certain students meet some but not all of the factors that we consider and these students are placed in the "waitlist" category.

As admissions are on a rolling basis, the waitlist is reviewed periodically from time to time and students found suitable are offered a place at SP Jain and rest are rejected.

All students are advised to keep checking our website regularly as their status is clearly put up on the site.
Incase students are unable to view their status online due to certain technical errors then they may call or email us, which you have done.

I hope I have clarified all your concerns about how we deal with students who have been waitlisted.
Thanks

Thanks Rutty Bharucha for creating a forum where we can clarify everything about SPJain Dubai & Singapore.

I wanted to know more about the superspecializations that SPJain offers. I am an IT guy with about 3.5 yrs of exp and with a GMAT score of 680. I am a little different from the usual IT crowd as im more concentrating towards ERP applications than into coding. I was curious to know if I could take my specialization in Logistics Management. Also in the admission process do you have any criterion for offering specializations or irrespective of their experience can they take up any specializations?

Another question i want to ask is about the placements. What is the percentage of relevant placements that happen at SP Jain. To put the question in a different way, What percentage of students with MBA in Logistics management gets placed into companies in Logistics management itself. It would be great for all of us if you could give an estimate of relevant placements in other specializations as well.

I have some more questions, but would like to ask them after this reply:) . I think the length of the answers would reduce if i ask more questions in one post itself  .... Im just kidding.....

Thanks a lot for your time..

Hi madam Rutty Bharucha,

First i introduce myself in a brief.

I am a Mechanical Engineer and currently working in Infosys Technologies Ltd. in India , as a Software Engineer for the Past 2 years and 1 month.I came to know about Spjain dubai quite some time back and feel like its really putting my golden years in the college. I wanted to apply for the Dec-2006 intake , but could not as i had to go to UK for a 2 months job assignment.

so before i could come back, the admissions were all over.

now I intend to apply for june-2007 intake. but actually there are some queries from my side which i wanted to get answered. so please help me in getting my queries answered.

first of all , i am looking forward to apply for Global Logistics management, but as i say that the course is newly introduced not only in SPjain itself but also in an MBA curriculum (as far as i know) and the new batch will be passing out only in Dec-2007,so how the response of the companies looks towards it in terms of placements, etc in Singapore/Dubai? Again how does logistics management place the current batch in the market in singapore/Dubai.

Secondly, as i come from an IT background of 2 years and look to apply for Global Logistics management course, i will be percieved as a fresher or a fellow with an experience of 2 years (I will complete my 2.5 years in June-2007.)?

Thirdly, since the course has been introduced first time ,so it is not apparent about the profile of companies come for the placements . so i would be thankful if you could enlighten on this.

Fourthly , as it is known that SPJain shortlists candidates for its further stages on the basis of Gmat/Cat/SPjain entrance exam. I am planning to give my GMat in near future. so what is `the cut-off ,SPjain asks for the candidate getting shortlisted for any of the entrance exam?

looking forward from your side,

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Chetan,
Thank you for your message.
Based on your profile you may apply for the GLM programme. We do not insist on students applying only for specialisations relevant to their work experience.
As for your query on placements, most of our studnets get relevant palcements. Companies which have requirements for skilled managers in the specialisations we offer do visit our campus. SO i dont think you need to worry about relevant placements. I do not have the statistics for Logistics placements as it is a new course.

Thanks Rutty Bharucha for creating a forum where we can clarify everything about SPJain Dubai & Singapore.

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
Yes, GLM is a new specialisation that we have started only since 2007. However I would like to inform you that we introduce new specialisations only after extensive research keping in mind current market trends and industry demands. Thus we have started the GLM stream only because we see a need for talented managers with a domain knowledge in Logistics.
Your prior work experience in IT would be appreciated and would hold you in good stead while applying for positoins in Logistics. However the final outcome of your interview would depend on how you perform and come through at that point.
All companies have requirements for Logistics managers. So even though there will be companies like shipping or transport companies that would be coming in to interview candidates, various otehr companies would alos have positions for Logistics managers.
As for the GMAT requirement, we would look at a score of 650 upward.
Hope i have sorted your queries.

Hi Rutty,

Firstly thank you very much for clearing all our doubts about the GMBA Program.
I am a BMS graduate currently working in a renowned BPO in Mumbai.
I went through the SP Jain website for the GMBA program. It says that SP Jain considers CAT,GMAT or XAT scores and if one has not taken any of these tests, SP Jain conducts its own aptitude test for the same. I had not appeared for any of the above mentioned tests this year.
I wanted to know about the aptitude test conducted for this course.
When is this test going to be held?
What is the duration of the test?
What kind of questions should be expected?
I wanted to enroll for the June 07 intake.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Milind Gandhi

sir,
i want to know regarding admissions in june..i hv not given cat / xat..is there any other aptitude test conducted separately by you collegewhich i can give for the june batch..when is it? do you take students with no work experience? i hv above 60 percent in my academics ,science graduate instrumentation.given ncfm modules, done trainning in INMAS ,panacea biotech for 3 months, won various medals in sports, can i expect the call from you?

Hi Rutty,
Is the SP Jain aptitude test score taken for the december 06 intake valid for june 07 intake as well? Or is the SP Jain aptitude test to be given again?
Thanks!

Sir,
I have the following queries.

1. I had made an application for DEC intake and got shortlisted for the evaluation process but could not attend the same. However i want to apply for the June intake. So do i need to make a new application or apply using the old application no. What procedure needs to be followed here.

2. Around when will the first round of test be held for the June intake?

3. Will the Test/ GD/Pi process be held in Bangalore also?

4. Looking at the profile of IT management , more than 95% ppl seem to be from engineering background. I myself am from a non- eng background(BCA), working for s/w company and have a 3 yrs work ex. Is there any sort of a inclination for Eng background ppl for IT managment?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Milind,
Thank you for your message.
Yes incase you haven't appeared for any of these entrance tests you may take SP Jain's aptitude test.
As we have just opened for admissions for the June 2007 intake, we have not yet fixed the date for our aptitude tests. The duration of the test is 90 minutes and it is like any MBA entrance test, comprising of Maths, Logic, English, GK etc.
PLease check our website S.P.Jain Center of Management, Dubai . Singapore for further updates about the test dates etc.

Hello,
Yes we do conduct our own aptitude test, however as we have just opend for admissions for the June 2007 intake we have not yet fixed the date for the tests.
We do consider students who have no work experieince provided they have outstanding academics.
Hope i've helped sort your queries.
Thanks
