[OFFICIAL] SP Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) | Dubai, Singapore, Sydney: MGB & Global MBA - Admissions 2023-24

Hello Anees,
Thank you for your message. I shall answer your queries in the manner asked:

1) You would have to re-apply for the June 2007 intake. You may submit a new online application for the June '07 intake.

2)As we have just opened for admissions for the June 2007 intake, weh ave not yet fixed the date of the aptitude test. Please check our website for updates regarding the same.

3) The aptitude test could be conducted in Bangalore, however the evaluations (Essay/GD/PI) would be conducted only in Mumbai.

4) No, being a BCA would not be a disadvantage compared to those who are from engineering backgrounds.

Hope I have sorted all your queries.

Sir,
I have the following queries.

1. I had made an application for DEC intake and got shortlisted for the evaluation process but could not attend the same. However i want to apply for the June intake. So do i need to make a new application or apply using the old application no. What procedure needs to be followed here.

2. Around when will the first round of test be held for the June intake?

3. Will the Test/ GD/Pi process be held in Bangalore also?

4. Looking at the profile of IT management , more than 95% ppl seem to be from engineering background. I myself am from a non- eng background(BCA), working for s/w company and have a 3 yrs work ex. Is there any sort of a inclination for Eng background ppl for IT managment?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Abhijit,
Thanks for your message.
This is a very important question and of much interest to many students.
However at this point in time the Admissions Committee has not yet taken a decision about the Dec 06 scores being valid for June 07.
Please check our website or postthis query again in about 10 days time.

Hi Rutty,
Is the SP Jain aptitude test score taken for the december 06 intake valid for june 07 intake as well? Or is the SP Jain aptitude test to be given again?
Thanks!

hi buddy,

i am having 2yrs of workex and planning to do my mba at spjain singapore or dubai for june intake so i need ur advice on this issue. i would like to know how much will it cost for me to do the mba thr. and how will b the placements. i am interested in marketing.

aadi

Thanks Rutty for the reply,

But i am still in doubt that Dec-2006 intake just got over and so early intake for June-2007 intake has started.

How?

again, i really got elated to know that shipping companies do come for the recruitments in Global logistics management and that should motivate me to apply for the same.
because thats what i was thinking of.

then could you please enlighten on the process of your admission on the rolling basis? what does it mean ?..does it say that you keep on getting applications throught the 6-month period , conduct the tests, give results and select the candidates. because i am little confused that how many seats are there for a particular course lets say Global logistics managemnt?...

i mean how many seats are there for a particular course?

Thanks and Regards,

mbaplayer.

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
Yes, GLM is a new specialisation that we have started only since 2007. However I would like to inform you that we introduce new specialisations only after extensive research keping in mind current market trends and industry demands. Thus we have started the GLM stream only because we see a need for talented managers with a domain knowledge in Logistics.
Your prior work experience in IT would be appreciated and would hold you in good stead while applying for positoins in Logistics. However the final outcome of your interview would depend on how you perform and come through at that point.
All companies have requirements for Logistics managers. So even though there will be companies like shipping or transport companies that would be coming in to interview candidates, various otehr companies would alos have positions for Logistics managers.
As for the GMAT requirement, we would look at a score of 650 upward.
Hope i have sorted your queries.

hi,

my name is siddharth and i am from mumbai. i too am in the race for a seat in one the good bschools. spjain in mumbai ,as we all know, is one of the best. therefore when a friend told me about spjain dubai singapore, i had to check it out! i saw your website and went through the placements section where you have mentioned the kind of placements you have had in the past. but i was still a little apprehensive. why does spjain need to open a branch all the way in dubai when they could have just opened one in india if they wanted more students? india too has a booming economy now! in fact what fueled my doubts was that one of the current students of spjain dubai had posted in one of the forums of pagalguy that spjain is fabricating its placements figures and just luring in students and that people do not even get a 5 lakh job in india after an mba from spjain dubai!!! the thing is we all know how good spjain mumbai is. but if i could just KNOW that spjain dubai too will b a good experience then i could apply without any apprehensions of any kind. so are there some of kind credentials i could see online on the website or talk to somebody in mumbai about this?

thank you!

Hello Mam,

I have applied for SP Jain's Global MBA but my profile is very different . I have a degree in homeopathy ( BHMS) where my aggregate is 66% . My X and XII acads are good too - 86% and 82% respectively. I even have 1 year of experience as a House physician. I want to know about my admission chances at SP jain and moreover the specialization I should choose as I am a bit confused between Information Management and marketing !!

I want to get some information about the specialisation - product management. It seems its a new specialization which is being started at SP Jain as I could not find any placement records regarding the same. I have been invited for the aptitude test for the Jan batch ( foreign student) and i really need some suggestions from you !

thanks
Prashant

hello,
We look only for very highly qualified students who meet our high entry standards, we start our admissions process 6 months in advance , as we need time to select the right candidates.
"Rolling basis" means that the admissions are on a continuous basis wherein we do NOT wait till the last date for applications to collect applications and then assess them. We review applications as and when we receive them and students are shortlisted accordingly.
There are about 30-50 seatrs per stream.
thank you

Dear Siddharth,
Thank you for your message.
As the world is turning into a global village there is a need for "global managers", managers who are aware of the trends and practices not just in their home country but all over the world. Keeping this in mind SP Jain decided to go overseas and start its international campuses to create a pool of multi talented professionals with global vision.
Thus we seek to provide every student of ours international exposure and it is for this reason we have started our campuses in two of the most dynamic cities of the world - Dubai and SIngapore.
As you must have seen on our website there are testimonials of alumni who have shared their experiences at SP Jain and have also been well placed. You will also find appreciatve words form our recruiters on the website.

We are a world class instituition and DO NOT need to resort to any such tactics such as fabricating salaries of students. The figures mentioend on the website are genuine and authentic and our students have acutally got these salaries and we only hope to keep bettering them year after year
You may call on the numbers given on our website and speak to our counsellor for further confirmation.

Dear Prashao,
We have had students who are from medical and allied medical fields who have applied for our course , gotten shorlisted and even been offered a place at our instituition. These studenet face no problem in coping with our programme.
Coming from a medical background we suggest that a specialisation in marketing would be more suited to you.
Yes this is a new field that we have started. However I should inform you that we are always updating ourselves and bringing in new streams and doing away with outdated ones. This is done only after we carry out extensive market research and keeping in mind current market trends. Only when we are convinced that there is a demand for managers with skills in a particular domain do we introduce a new specialisation. So I do not think there is a need to worry about placements in Product Marketing and Management.

Hope I have sortedyour queries.
Thank you

Thanks for the reply Rutty. I still want to know why/how the Marketing field will suit someone like me ( from medical background ) ?
Can I get some information regarding which companies have you targetted while starting this new specialization ?

We have multi faceted students in our batch.
The age ranges from 22 to even upto 30+ years, as we also do take in freshers who are outstanding. However the avg age would be about 25-27 years
As I mentioned that we take in freshers too the min work ex would be NIL and max can be as high as 10+ years. Avg workex would be about 3 years
Gmat score- we look at scores of 650 upward
thanks

Hello Gautam,
Thank you for your message.
It is not neccessary that you need to have relevant work experience inorder to be offered a place on our programme. As long a you demonstrate the necessary skills and qualities that we are looking for we can overlook the fact that you do not have relevant work experience.
You may go ahead and submit your application for Retail Mgmt.

i have been working wid larsen n toubro for two years as a senior civil engineer..
my academics are class x 86%
class x+2 78%
n engineering 71%
from punjab engineering college ...
i would like 2 ask u tht does spjain ask for relevant work experience to apply to its courses..like im not an it guy who can apply to it management..neither a finance guy so cant apply to weath management..
im in intrested in marketing esp retail management or product management..but dont have relevant work experience in tht too..
so which course is gud 4 me..
n wht r my chances if i apply in marketing ie retail management coz retail management gonna b the in thing rgt now
thanx in advance

Well, I think Finance would be difficult for someone who has no knowledge of Quantitative and same applies to IT as you need some base in IT to pursue it.
As someone who has a medical background you would also need marketing in every sphere of life.
Even if you are a skilled professional providing services one still needs marketing to prmote ones self.
Hence you may goi aead and apply for marketing stream.
We do not have the list of companies off hand . We are still working on confirming them to visit our campsues.
Thanks

Hi Madam

Just wanted to Clarify certain things before applying to SPJCMR.

1. What are my chances if have 18 months (as of Dec 2006) in IT (with a Retail Gaint) and have done fair amount of extra-curricular activities but have a bad CAT Score (academics are strong with X-86% XII-93.3% and Engg-79%)? Should i apply for the June Intake?

2. Can I take SPJCMR Aptitude test and redeem myself?

3. What is the median salary for 2006 Batch Passouts?

4. What sort of MBA would suit my profile? ( i would prefer finance or Retail Mgmt or IT Mgmt)

Sincerely
Rajesh

Dear Rajesh,
Thank you for your message.
Yes you may go ahead and apply for the June 2007 intake. You may improve on your CAT score by either taking the GMAT or our own aptitude test and we will select the best score.
The average salaries for students who passed out in June 2006 is 8-9 lacs p.a.. You may view details regarding the same on our website.
Based on your profile your may apply for either Retail Management or IT Management.

hI!
ONE MORE QUERY I WOULD LIKE TO ADD...
MANY PPL GET IMPRESSED BY THE SALARY FIGURES PUT UP IN THE WEBSITE. BUT, A CLOSER LOOKS REVEALS THAT SALARYS AS LOW AS 2.5-3.00 LACS/ ANNUM IS DRAWN BY STUDENTS WHO COMPLETE THE GMBA PROGRAM. THIS IS ALARMING. I THEREFORE PRESUME THAT THE AMOUNT OF SALARY DEPENDS GREATLY ON THE PREVIOUS WORK-EX OF STUDENTS. KINDLY ENLITEN THIS ASPECT AND THE BASIS ON WHICH STUDENTS GET THEIR SALARYS.
I AM CURRENTY A PROJECT ENGG WITH A WORK EX OF 5 MONTHS, WORKING IN DOHA, QATAR. WAS PLANNING TO APPLY FOR THE 07-JUNE INTAKE. BUT SEEING THIS ASPECT DISCOURAGES ME TO DO SO.
KINDLY ADVICE.
THANKS!!
