I have a question in regards to the references provided in the application. From the website I got the impression that all the references need to sent through normal mail and it can't be done online. Please do correct me if I am wrong.

In addition is there any timeframe in which the references need to submitted. I am asking this question because right now I am not in India and therefore it might take a week or two for the references to reach the admission folks if it is sent through normal mail.

I m MBBS graduate, currently working in mumbai with Topsline Life Response Service for last 10 months. I went through your official website & learnt that S.P. Jain admits candidates with prior work experience only.I have full time work experience of 10 months and 6 months of part time work experience. I am eligible to apply for progarm? Also, I did 1 year of Internship in KEM Hospital. Will that be consider as work experience?

Do one need more work experience to understand the business concept better?

You need to submit the forms within 10 days from the date of application. Your referee can fill the soft copy and mail it to this email id directly from his email id then there is no need for signature.

As the last date for applying for GMBA program is Nov.15, does this mean that we cannot use this year's CAT or next year's XAT score?

Though specifically not mentioned, is it true that the institute does not entertain applicants having marks below 60% in graduation? Mine is 58%.

Also, what was the minimum salary offered to the last year batch?

The status on the website is updated within a weeks time....!

As the last date of application is nov 15th & the classes would commence somewhere in jan i dun think u can use either cat 07 or xat 08 score.

HI Tech next....

I guess I can answer to the first part of your question... You'll not be able to use your CAT (07)& XAT(0 scores to secure admission for Jan Intake. This can however be used for the June 08 intake.

Well from the earlier posts in this thread i beleive the time taken for the evaluation call has varied quite a bit .In my case i got it in about a week's time !

The topics for General essays were:

1. State a role where you had to demonstrate leadership role and what did you learn
2. State an innovative solution that you have provided at your work place.

The business essay was:
1. You are the head of business of service/ product, what 3 things would you do to boost the sales.

Gd topics:

1. How relevant is gandhiism in todays life.
2. Is management studies essential to succeed in business

My eval is on 14th of Oct and I have opted for IB were as my current working experince has been in IT field.
What kind of questions should I expect in PI because practically I am unaware of any technical knowledege of IB.
Are there chances of getting through the PI with my kind of background..?

HI Vivek,

For GD, I would suggest that you keep reading... Be a voracious reader and stay updated with the latest happening... You never know they might have something on the latest issues...like the Indo US nuke deal ....Other than that i don't think so there is much you need to do...In case of your actual GD if you are caught off guarded with the topic given and you don't have much to speak or you are unsure....let someone else start the Gd.. listen and then develop your ideas ....Listening does help !!

They had asked me to introduce myself....Y i wanted to do an MBA...What would be my next assignment if i continue with my job....My hobbies...I am into ITES services business while I had opted for Product marketing... Justify your choice....What significant have you done at your work place...These are the basic questions....sounds simple ..but stay prepared... Bcas if we fumble at speaking about ourselves....it doesn't leave a gud impression!!

I don't feel you should be worried .....see the positives ...you at least know what you are weak at... Most of us aren't... So you know where you shouldn't lead your interview... So keep your answers crisp and as far as possible away from areas which you are uncomfortable to speak on...And in case they do ask....don't bluff.. !!

i will keep my self updated with the current affairs..
I was just a bit more worried about the PI as I have no clues what IB is all about and if they enter into technical jargans regarding the same I will be stuck there itself.. by saying justifying your selection what kind of responses do you think they look for.
My justification can only be wanting a carrer switch as in the past I have never been associated with Finance but it is very lucrative and personal apti towards maths is the basic driving force.

If you can throw some light on what kind of justification they look for I can prepare a rough draft for the same... 😃 Thanks for all the help.. 😃

Though i am not very sure abt this but then doing an NCFM certification in couple of modules might have been a good idea , since apart from strengthening your credentials it would also help you in enhancing your knowledge in Financial domain.

Hi..you got an evaluation call in a week's time after submission..thats cool..i submitted my application 13 days back..did it online but no response yet..just want to be sure that I have atleast completed all the formalities properly..and hoping my recco's reached mumbai..waiting for a reply from SP Jain..

Hey Rohit,

Even before the website was updated, I received the mail from the admissions office for the evaluation...So keep checking your mails as well.. Especially ensure that the mail isn''t directed to your bulk mail...
