Hi Rutty,

I have applied for the GMBA course - January intake.
Application ID- 17554- IT

I have a work experience of 2 yrs 11 months in I.T. and a good academic record (distinction through out)
My profile matches all the other criteria for the GMBA course except for the Aptitude test marks.I have scored only 50.47 percentile in the SP Jain aptitude test conducted on 30-sep. Also I have not attempted any Competitive exams like CAT/XAT/GMAT.

It would be really helpful if you could please let me know if i have any chance of getting a call for the evaluation rounds.

I have a query regarding the reco's, Just want to know is there any specific format we need to get our reco's done. I mean do we need to have it on a companny letter head, or on a plane A4 sheet? Plz lets us know if there is any specific thing that we need to keep in mind while getting the reco's done.

There is a specified format...which you can download once you have submitted your form. You dont need to get it on any letter head or something like that.....

Yes the recos have to be in sepcific format given to you but they have to be on plain paper and not on the company/school/college letter head

The decision to shortlist you or not lies with the Admissions Commitee and they would look at your profile as a whole.
Incase you still remain waitlisted you may retake the test when we have it again (pls check our website in the coming week) to improve on your score

Another query thats been bothering me is that on factors is it decided that a particular applicant goes to Singapore and another goes to Dubai.

And is there some kind of a comparision between the 2 b schools in terms of level of teaching, course, curriculum, faculty and placements.

Kindly throw some light on this.

I am having my eval on 14th of Oct for IB.
I am a bit confused what kind of questions to expect in the PI. I have no relevant experince in the Finance domain. Can anybody share some thoughts on what kind of questions can I expect and is anyone there with an IT background who made it through to the first round of evals to any finance specilization.

Hi Ajay,

1. Yes there is a june Intake of this GMBA Program.
2. Deadline of 15th Nov is only for the Jan intake.
3. There is a separate deadline for the June intake..It would be posted on the website...
4. The choice of start in terms of location is not in our hands...The SPJ has designed it in such a way that, Finance & It starts in Dubai and ends in Singapore while its the vise versa for Marketing, Logistics & HR.

HI Varun,

well comparisons happen when you have two different entity...SPJ Dubai & Singapore are both a part of same institute...You have faculty from SPJ mumbai who fly to these places to take classes......The placements are a common one... In terms that all teh finance guys would be in singapore during their placements...so you'll have all the recruiters at that location....Similarly for all the other specializations.

Yes, we do have a June intake for the programme
No, this deadline applies to only those who wish to apply for the Jan 08 intake
Yes, tehre is a separate deadline for the June intake. However we havent yet fixed anything regarding the same. Pls check our website around Dec 07 for details regarding the June 08 intake
Where you start your course first would depend upon the stream or specialisation you opt for - Finance and IT streams start in Dubai first and Marketing,GLM and HRM start in Singapore first

Hi,
I think you are confused - students have to mandatorily study 6 months in Dubai and 6 months in Singapore - the programme structure is such - where your start first depnds on the specialisation opted for - Finance and IT start at Dubai and Marketing, GLM and HRM start at Singapore.
There is not difference in both the schools at both the locations in the sense that they are the same entity.

for the June intkae the trests can only be held after Jan 08

Thanks a ton for your prompt response. With that now, I shall have to bug you with a few more questions:

- Can I submit the application now with a consideration for the June intake as I am not interested in the January one?
- What are the kind of financial aids/scholarships that are provided? What are the criteria for the same?
- What percentage of placements are back in India? How tough/easy is it to come back to India to work, post MBA?
