Maa ke lode Wait kar kar ke bc dimag ka bhosda hi ho gaya hai bc ab!! Aise lund college mein jaane ka to ab lauda mann naiii Maa chudagya XL bhosdk! Aaye ab ya naa aaye result, main to lund nai jaunga aise unprofessional college mein. Lauduchande kahi ke.
I was extremely happy when XAT results were out (scored 99.9+). But my BM interview was the worst interview I had ever given. It started normally but went onto some international politics of which I had zero idea. They started naming politicians and asking if I knew which country they belonged to and I knew none. My confidence became extremely low. Then they completed the interview saying "I think you only read academic books. Read news paper also sometimes". I do read newspaper, just that I wasn't well versed in the topic they asked. Just felt extremely sad and like venting about a good percentile going waste...
Candidate 1 (XLRI 2018-2020):
Cleared the XLRI interview in his fourth attempt. Had been giving CAT and XAT for 4 years and getting rejected every time, despite having 99.xx, because his acads were terrible. Never got ABC calls because even though he was a national level quizzer and had strong extra curriculars.
Candidate 2 (XLRI 2018-2020)
This kid started giving CAT in 2015. Average academics and an average profile became a speedbump for him. Wanted to break into the top 5 colleges. Didn't go for IIM Ranchi, NM etc in 2017 when he converted. Finally got into XLRI in 2018. An ABG Scholarship Nominee, and held a major office on campus during his tenure.
In the study of Organisational Behaviour-I, there is something called a self-serving bias. We attribute successes and positive outcomes to our doing, basking in our own glory when things go right; but, when we face failure and negative outcomes, we tend to attribute these events to other people or contextual factors outside ourselves.
There are many more people like the candidates above who toiled silently for success and finally achieved it. They didn't raise a hue and cry when they didn't convert. They looked inwards and changed the things that they could and here they are.
Success will soon be yours as well. If not today, then maybe tomorrow.
Yes, these are trying times. A lot is riding on this result. 2 years ago, I had a lot riding on XL too. I had been rejected from ISB and SPJIMR by then. I know how it feels. Stop cursing the world around you and hang in there. All the best, everyone. Permitte divis cetera.
People here are venting with percentiles 98 99 etc. Being general, fresher and engineer with 94 , I'm losing all my hope reading these. Are the chances very low for low percentilers?
I am burning up from within. So I just wanna know how good my chances for BM are.. XAT: 99.49 Work-ex: 20months in IT Great GD-WAT : Had decently timed entries and some information to back my statements and entered around 4-5 times maybe. PI: I could handle most questions but I feel that I sounded stupid in one of the questions and a few unprovoked questions on the rajya sabha caught me off gaurd. And these 2 things are haunting me day and night. How do you guys think I did?
I have been holding myself to not discuss about my chances of conversions but the delay in results by several B-schools have exacerbated my anxiety.
XAT percentile: 98.3
Acads: 95/95.2/76.5
Commerce fresher, DU.
Calls: HR and BM
BM:
PI: It was a stress interview but i was able to answer most of my questions with proper communication
GD: It was decenent i made 5-6 interventions.
WAT: Although decently put but was unable to complete it with only a couple of sentences left
HR:
PI: Not so good interview i would say average to below average
GD: Excellent GD
WAT: Great WAT
What are my chances?
