I am contemplating on writing GMAT and apply for MBA in top 10 - 15 universities mainly in US.
What are the chances of my application being selected if i get gmat score in +700 range. Also i would like to know any good gmat prep + post gmat assistance institutes in delhi ncr.
I have been preparing for GMAT exam and I am planning to appear for it in mid-August.
I have a 2 year work ex in the Software industry with a multinatinal corporation and it will be 3 years by the next fall.
Thus I am targeting some of the top B-schools in the US for next year admissions.
I have pretty decent academics:
10th: 89%
12th: 89.4%
B.Tech(N.I.T. Jalandhar): 7.2/10
I am mainly concerned about my profile. Though I have been actively participating in extra-curricular acivites at the school and college level, I have not been much involved in any 'profile-building' activities in the past two years while working. How do I make up for that now since I am planning to target next year? what are my options now?
P.S. I had been involved in sports and other activites at school level. I had been an active member of some college level clubs and president of one. Also, I was involved in the various college fests. I am pretty confident of scoring a 700+ score in GMAT.
I have work experience of 6 years in the banking industry.presently I am a deputy manager at state bank of India.as a starter what is the best way I should prepare for gmat..
I attempted the GMAT today and had a disastrous performance. I scored 670 with Q48/V34. I was aiming at 720+ to apply to schools like ISB and IIMA. I will complete 7yrs and 4 months of IT experience in March 2016, and 74.5%, 71.3% and 8.45 CGPA in X, XII and B.Tech respectively. So here are my questions -
1) Is 670 a safe score to apply, given my profile and await a call from the mentioned schools?
2) Is it wise to take another test, although I am not very clear as to where I went wrong?
I am completely new to GMAT so would really appreciate if you could help me out a little bit.
My profile is follows:-

Pursuing CFA and gave CFA level 1 in June 2015.
Not much high extra curricular
Work experience:
An IT firm - 12months (june 2013-june 2014)
I left my job last year to prepare for CAT n other mba exams for admission into India's top 10-15 colleges. Got 98.49 in CAT bt couldn't convert any colleges (still waiting and hoping for MDI as i write this post).
So now i am looking for a job(and work for 2-3 years and take my total workex to 3-4 yrs along with completing CFA) and contemplating on writing GMAT and apply for MBA in top 10 - 15 universities mainly in US and also for SP Jain n XLRI GMBA and ISB.
My questions are:-
1) How much impact would my leaving my job and subsequently the 1yr gap would have on my admission right from application selection to final selection?
2) How much should i score to get in these colleges based on my profile( i know that 700+ is considered good bt i think i need more than that right)?
3) I am completely new to GMAT. So any suggestions/tips about how to go about to prepare for it would be really helpful.
4) which study material to use? i have heard that there is a official guide and Manhattan and Kaplan Any insight into these would help..

How should I start my GMAT prep? I am looking to apply for MIS course or MBA in US universities after an year or two of job experience . What are the good study resources , books , Mock tests sites? And with this profile , do I stand a chance?
Puys, I need your suggestion on booking my GMAT date.
I've enrolled for Princeton review online coaching. And I gave their diagnostic test, in which I scored 610 (QA=48, Verbal=28 😞 )
Knowing that my verbal is very poor, I decided to prepare for it from the OG. I finished the sentence correction and I gave another mock today, in which I scored 660 (QA=51 , verbal=31 😞 ).
Since my verbal score hasn't improved significantly, should I study more before I book a date for GMAT or should I book a date and hope to increase my verbal score in that time frame if I am targeting anywhere above 720 ? Pls help ..
PS: I am giving CAT as well come November and I want to dedicate my complete studying hours to CAT as quickly as possible.
