Hi, Iam an IT Professional from chennai and have decided to do a part time Program from symbiosis. I am in a dilemma whether to choose PGDBA-operations or PGDiploma in Internatinal business. Please put ur thougths on this…

well international business is definitely a gr8 course to go for..but for you i'd say it depends upon whether ur own company would give u a sufficient pay hike and change in work profile if u take a course in international business..i just secured admission into symbiosis for fulltime degree in international business and am going for it because i know that from the start of my career i would have a chance to direct my work profile related to international business..but since u are already woeking and if ur company doesnot give u a change in work profile related to global business affairs after an internaional business degree...it would be better to go for operations..

well in operations ur work profile would include procedure planning and orientation,supply chain management,logistic operations management,resource mangement,reducing time cycle of production and increasing profit through increased production etc..in short u would be involved with and expected to contribute towards the process of developing a perfect operating procedure for a company..
as for international business..as far as symbiosis is concerned..the curriculum doesnot restrict itself to foreign trade..i believe u would be given specialisation choices in hr,marketing,finance and systems in ib at symbiosis...incase they do offer systems..that would be better than operations cause then u are equipped to handle jobs abroad as well..so the job profile would remain the same as those in normal mba..only u would be equipped to deal with different laws and procedures followed in different countries..and so u would have the chance of getting it abroad (and hence consequently a heavier paycheck)

dude but ppl frm it are more suited to MBA in systems /IT.

Which program are you talking about?:neutral: I have browsed SIBM's/SCMHRD's website but could not locate. Are you talking about the 1-year PG part-time diploma programmes offered by SIBM and SIIB? Could you please clarify more on the details of the program like duration/course structure/fees/coaching timings/eligibility?

i'm not sure what portion mba it covers..but mba systems and mba operations usually cover most of the same topics...

It is more of correspondence course, but contact classes are arranged as per symbi's notification

In my opinion part time mba programmes worth for software proffessional in india is PGSEM(Post graduate diploma in software enterprise management) from IIM bangalore. this programme can be done from Bangalore, chennai& hyderabad.

THE OTHER IS MBA IN TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMANT FROM DELHI UNIVERSITY.
