Hey Puys !!
I see a lot of threads going on here regarding various certification programs like FRM/GARP, CFA, CFP, ICWA, etc. But no active threads on Project Management certification.
So, I take this initiative to start a thread on Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI), USA. Many of you might be familiar with; for those who are unfamiliar, I would like to brief up about PMP certification.
PMI is the worlds leading not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession, with more than 600,000 members and credential holders in more than 185 countries. PMI has provided project management certifications for over 25 years, and our PMP credential was the first one designed specifically for project managers.
The PMI Project Management Salary Survey Seventh Edition shows that certification positively impacts project manager salaries and helps you stand out and better market yourself to prospective employers. PMI certifications are not based on one specific methodology, so theyre flexible and adaptable. One can easily transfer them between industries, market segments and geographic locations. PMI continually conducts in-depth studies to ensure that our credentials actually reflect the current skills, knowledge and best practices you need to succeed.

I request Puys to actively participate in this thread and share the valuable experiences and info they are having in this regard. It is certain that this is gonna help the aspirants in some way or other.
TIA
Mandatory requirement for PMP:
1. A four-year degree (bachelors or the global equivalent)
2. At least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects
3. 35 hours of project management education.
Can anybody shed some light on the type of PM education dat is required to fulfil the 3rd condition.
