Hey friends i have completed my MBA (PG) & appearing for FRM.
M looking forward to wrk in Risk mgmt.
I have few questions ......
1) In case of FRM if u clear d exam u gt certificate only after showing experience of 2 years, is there any such thing for PRM too??
2) Do we need any higher qualification to appear for PRM?? ( I mean do we need any higher degree like FRM or CFA to appear for PRM)
3) PRM is simpler to FRM??
Plz Help.............
Unfortunately, if you publish questions from a PRMIA exam you will be in violation of our Bylaws through unethical behaviour - you will be removed from the PRMIA membership and your PRM exam results will therefore be invalid.
PRMIA maintains high ethical requirements (as does GARP) and we expect our members to behave equally.

Hello,
Just a question - Why have u both guys (PRMIA and PRMIAhelp) registered on PG using initials "PRM" as ur user name
You are sending out wrong signals - Please clarify if you are an existing PRM member and offers PRM Coaching or you are officials from PRMIA organisation
Cheers,
Shyam
I am the Chief Operating Officer of PRMIA. I fail to see what wrong signals I am sending out. I have no control on anyone using PRM or PRMIA in their taglines.

I know it is insane to ask you this.
But can ou guide me as to which one is better among FRM(from GARP) and PRM(from your organisation)?
Also how does it help in enhancing and furthering the career of the candidates who have passed the exam.
Can you provide some testimonials. I have gone through websites of bothe the organisation and have seen more jobs posted on the GARP website. Does it mean that GARP is more acceptable?
hey i have a few qs regarding prmia
1) from where do u study for it? do they provide some material like cfa on registration? if not, do we have schweser type material fro prm?
2) is it worth giving? does it have any value in india?
Hi Dude
1)You have to pay for the study material. It will be available to you online(the link is available on PRMIA website). No hard copy of PRM handbook is available.Even if you get a hardcopy , it is bound to be the old syllabus. The syllabus changed for Exam III since March 2010. Exam IV is case study based, the cases are available on PRMIA website.
2) PRM is gaining popularity and a lot of ppl are taking it up nowadays. In fact I did search for risk managemnt jobs in various sites, and wherever I saw it was "FRM/PRM" ...Just goes to show the growing clout of PRM...Moreover the networking you get with your local chapters is also an added advantage..But at present, FRM is ruling the roost in India...However with Basel II implementations becoming the need of the day for banks,PRM is bound to be in demand..But one thing dude, PRM/FRM etc..are ONLY SECOND TO CFA.(though the bounds are different , i.e CFA is investment related and FRM/PRM risk management related)..

hey i know prm/frm is diff from cfa. so as u r saying prm is gaining value in india, so do u think its ok to try for a guy like me who doesnt have any work ex, though am a mba fin student passing out in 2011, and i have interest both in investment as well as risk management. and if u have any idea tell me, is the handbook more than enuf for the exam or something else is needed? like schweser is really good for cfa. and how much does the handbook cost, i was seraching for the info but cldnt get it
Hey does anybody know how to get hold of the PRM handbook other than buying it from PRMIA because thats a very costly option?
I'm keen to go for PRMIA exams but i've certain doubts . Please take time out to clarify these
1. Completion of all four exams would make one PRMIA certificate holder?...Is there any work-ex requirement like that in FRM?...Do we get a physical certificate mailed to us?...how much time does it take after passage of exams to receive the certificate?...declaration of exam results occur in 15 days?
2. does handbuk available for download sufficient for preparation?...If not wat all material does one need?schweser/kaplan?
3. does the syllabus changes periodically?....would beginning for prep now n by the time i give exams if syllabus changes would i be asked question based on new syllabus?
4. i need to complete the four exams in 2 year's timeframe?...if not then i'll have to begin afresh?
someone who has cleared PRMIA exams plz answer above queries

2. i dont think there is any other material other than the handbook. u can enroll for pristine tests though
3. i dont think syllabus changes every few months, it lats changed this yr march afaik, if u buy the official prm handbook, u will get the updates if syllabus is changed

ya it seems so. but am gonna write prm exam 2 in a couple of days, maybe we can help each other out
Hi Puys..I havent cleared all exams...But cleared 1 and 3..Now to clear some queries:
*Completion of all 4 exams will make u a certificate holder.Since this is not a charter,no work ex required.
* Not sure whether u get a physical copy of the certificate.
*You wil get ur result by MAX of 15 days..However normally it doesnt take more than 4-5 days to get the result.
*Handbook is more than enough for MBAs.For others not from Finance domain Fabozzi Hull etc are required for for Exam 1. Exam 1 is really voluminous :(
*Syllabus updation has already taken place last month. So dont bother for at least another year
*You need to complete ALL 4 exams in 2 years..Else you will have to retake the passed exams too(i.e in case u dont complete in 2 years)
*PRM Handbook 2004 is available on esnips. Also available at Laxmi . Latest handbook isnot available though.Exam III is the only exam which needs latest handbook; Rest 3 exams can be passed using the old handbook too
Any specific queries, lets discuss on the FORUM. No PMs please..
