Srujan bhai : I am planning to take PRM section 2 exam this friday. I want to practice the problems from the handbook but the example problems use an excel sheet. Did you have any excelsheet to practice or any resources which I can download. Thanks

By the way I cleared CFA level 1

Hi puys,

I need to practice the end of concept problems and I see that most of the data is in an excelsheet. If anyone has a copy of that excelsheet please share it. Thanks

thanku so much surjan for such a quick and positive reply. I am trying to read the topics which are related to finace like bond etc etc. is prm material is more than enough? and it would be helpful if you provide me with some tips.

PRM material is more than enough. Don't worry too much. Just understand the concepts well. The questions will be easy with some calculations to be done. BUt they mostly test your concepts more than anythg else.

@[176148:apsgaur] hi there. ya i completed long time back. Currently I am working with CRISIL GR&A; as a derivatives research analyst

guys i want to appear for exam 1 of prm, is the 2004 material a sufficient read for that purpose.

Yup....its more than sufficient.....jus some concepts might be missed out....read them online....keep referring to the latest syllabus and read the topics accordingly...

need some more suggestions! i am preparing for exam 2 first. i really want to know what sort of questions comes in to exam is based on calculations only. as i am going trough this material some financial things i am not getting it. as i told in my last posts i am from btech background. and should i go for exam 1 first?

will riskprep papers help?!
@laksharora ....go for exam 2 first....its quite easy...secondly....u need to study a lil bit of finance for it....dats true.....even if u don get it at all...u mite get a low score but u will clear it....if u r facing a lot of difficulty....then i wud suggest....wait for a while....study finance first a lil bit....then try out the second paper....

Hi Laksh,
The risk prep papers should help. However since you are from B-Tech background and starting with PRM, you may also want to consider APRM exam exam offered by PRMIA. Its relatively easier and is meant for people starting their career in risk management. Its a quick and effective way of strengthening your resume and later on you can get the PRM designation as well as it gives you an automatic credit for the exam IV of the PRM exam. So if your target is to become a PRM, wrtie the APRM exam first, get that designation and get credit to exam IV of PRM and then till the point you clear the other 3 PRM exams, you continue to leverage the APRM (Associate PRM) designation. The cost difference in the two approaches should be neglible.

@TheFinPro could you tell me the details of the Aprm ..does it have 4 exams like PRM and study material, does it differ from PRM and where do I get it.???

@reluctant
Hi,
APRM has one exam an if you clear it you become an Associate Professional Risk Management. The course material is similar to an FRM or PRM, they have just made it less rigorous to ensure that it is faster and effective to strengthen your resume. Later on obviously you have a choice to go for PRM.

In case in future you decide to become a PRM, you will just have to write the first 3 exams.

Now coming to your question about material -
- There is a publicly available book called, Essentials of Risk Management that you will have to study
- There are ARPM webinars available on PRMIA website, which you can purchase. They are not very costly and should be useful of preparation
- Download the Associate PRM candidate handbook from PRMIA's website for more detail
