Hi Guys!
I am currently working in Research and Development Division at India's leading Automobile manufacturing company. In my 3 years as a professional I have filed a few patents as author. I have done my Mechanical Engineering from one of India's premier engineering institute (ranked among top 15) and hold a B.E. (Hons.) degree. I have scored +85% in 12th(CBSE) and +90% in 10th (CBSE) grade resp. Apart from educational and professional achievements I have also volunteered in some of the NGOs as well.
After completing some years in the industry I am eying to pursue my Masters Degree, but I am perplexed to decide between MBA (GMAT) and MS (GRE) (both preferably from US). I don't have a clear idea about the courses/ programmes offered in either of the graduations.
Please suggest the merits and demerits of both and/or any other lead/consultant to help me get out of this dilemma.
Thanks.
Hi, I'm working as a regional manager for a certain brand and have graduated in a non-regular discipline. I've close to 4 yrs of commendable working experience where I've been appreciated for my performance time and again and have been promoted twice in 2 years to the regional profile being the youngest regional manager in group. Post my quick rise through ranks my growth is now on a plateau.
My academics have been average with 92% in 10th & 72% in 12th and I graduated with 6.8 CGPA. I've been scoring decent in GMAT mocks & 88% & 92% in CAT all of which were given without any dedicated study so I believe there is a considerable scope of improvement there.
Now I've desire to be associated with hiking & mountaineering and accomplish certain personal goals there. For this I'm looking to quit my job and get there and accomplish these for an year and then get back to studies through GMAT at some good B school and continue my trajectory from a higher level of managerial role.
My question is how does this quick switch will be rated in my profile while taking admission into some top ranked college. Will it add to further diversification in my profile or will it have some kind of negative impact since I'll be quitting a high paying & a senior role in a very strong business group and then again willing to join back in the same flow.

Hi Puys,
I am looking for a career enhancement. I am looking for something in research and data analytics. I am pursuing this due to lack to opportunities in existing company and difficulty to switch to a role which will help me give a chance to develop analytical solutions of my own.
My profile is as follows:
10th - 84.40%
12th - 85.33%
B.E. (EXTC) - DJ Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai - 66.89%
MBA (Finance) - SIBM, Pune - 2.653/4
Work Exp -
Current : Accenture Services Pvt Ltd - Data and reporting Analytics - 41 months (Mumbai)
Past : Omaxe Ltd (a listed real estate firm) - Trade Finance - 7 months (New Delhi)
International Languages Known: English, French (Read, write only)
Other competencies: Excellent in advanced excel and its application in reporting analytics.
I am looking only for very good colleges. ISB (since it is cheap) and INSEAD Singapore (since it can be done part time with my job, if I get a 2 year transfer to Singapore). Money is a big constraint for me.
My question to you:
1. What GMAT score should be my target to achieve my goal of B-School and scholarship?
2. Will my existing MBA degree hamper my chances at a shot at these schools?
3. What other schools do u recommend for me?
