GMAT: 690 (Q50 v34)
I am yet to give IELTS/TOEFL.
Nationality: Indian
CGPA (UG): 2.83
Final Goal: PhD in Economics/Finance from one of top 25 Schools.
Query: With my comparatively low GMAT score, which I cannot improve any further, and pure technical background (except for domain of Industry I worked), I understand that my odds are substantially high to directly get into a PhD program. Therefore, the only path available for me is to get a Master's degree first and then look forward for PhD.
I am not sure whether I should apply to 15-25 rank MBA colleges or I should look forward for Master course in any other specialization from top 20 rank colleges? What all paths are available for me?
Any leads is highly appreciated.

Reasons for Second MBA.
1. My current profile is very meaty and I enjoy doing it, however I want to breakout on the Int'l scene.
2. Post Second MBA - I look to work in same profile Product/Revenue Management or Consulting
Questions:
1. Should I give my GMAT in next 3 months and target 2017/2018 US for a 2 Year Program? Target College to apply or aim preferably High Medium and Low Range
2. INSEAD would be my 1st priority, is it out of my reach owning to poor acads and lack of Int'l exposure(though I worked with Int'l clients) as I never worked in a foreign shore? Is learning a foreign language like spanish/french necessary for INSEAD for the jobs after graduating in Europe
3.How tough is it to get a job owning to VISA problems in US & Europe. For lets say 15-25 colleges.
I have eliminated UK for precisely this reasons.
@sriwashere11 - not able to comment on your post, even after trying 5-6 times.
Here goes my answer:
I will answer your queries first:
1. Yes you can apply next year. In your case b-schools will want to know why you want a second MBA and why now is the best time to get one (whenever that be). So whenever you write your application, do address these two elements for sure. With 3 years gap between MBA 1 and MBA2, it may be easier to justify the need for the second on next year.
With additional studying time on hand, aim for a 750+ on GMAT. Crazy, but helps.
Moreover, you are doing great work- building your leadership will help in the applications.
2. Even INSEAD will love that score :). Show your ability to work with clients anywhere in the world, and to adapt. Travelling is not the only way to achieve this, although its a benefit. As you can imagine, some people can draw very basic insights from international experience, even after staying abroad for X years. So basically, its what you extract from your experience of working with foreigners that really matters. Learning French is not a necessity, but yes, it is an advantage to know a language. May also help a little when you graduate and look for jobs.
3. Do an MBA with an open mind with regards to the Visa. In the US there is a lottery system- if you get unlucky, it can work against you. In the Europe, finding a job in itself maybe a problem, so you may have to look around. I always tell people I discuss this issue with, to be open to coming back to India or to look at the MENA region or SE Asia as the place where they could be working...maybe the companies you interview with have a position in these market, so you should be willing to make that geography change. Same is the case with UK.
Hope that helps 😃
