yea was abt to post tht got disconnect

For the fish's length problem...
Tail=9 (ie;head)+4.5 (ie;1/2 of head)+1/2 of the tail
so ...
tail itself is 27 cms!!

hi.can someone pls explain these problems
1.In how many ways can a selection be made of 5 letters out of 5As,4Bs,3Cs,2Ds and 1E?(71)
2.find the no of ways of selecting n articles out of 3n+1 out of which n are identical.(4n)
3.If we have to make 7 boys sit alternately with 7 girls around a round table which is numbered,then what are the no of ways in which this can be done?(2*7!*7!)

hi.how to solve these problems
1)7 different objects must be divided among 3 ppl.In how many ways can this be done if 1 or 2 of them must get no objects?(381)
2)7 different objects must be divided among 3 ppl.in how many ways can this be done if one of them gets exactly 1 object?(1176)
3)how many 4 digit nos are there whose decimal notation contains not more than 2 distinct digits?(576)

1.) each object can be distributed in 2 ways if u leave one person therefore total 2^7 = 128 ways out of which out case whn nothin is given to all three therefore total is 128 - 1 = 127
rest you have 3C1 ways of selection a person who wnt get any object there 3 * 127 = 381 is the no. ways

pls correct me if i m wrong

Plz help me with these questions:

1.12^55/3^11 + 8^48/16^18 will give the digit at unit's place as
a)4
b)6
c)8
d)0

2.If we divide a two-digit number by the sum of its digits, we get 4 as a quotient and 3 as a remainder. Now, if we divide that two-digit number by the product of its digits, we get 3 as a quotient and 5 as a remainder. Find the two-digit number?

In Qus 1) try to break the numerator in such a way that its one part perfactly divisible by denominator in both side of addition and then divide the rest part with 10.hopefully you get the answer.
Plz help me with these questions:

1. 12^55/3^11 + 8^48/16^18 will give the digit at units place as
a) 4
b) 6
c) 8
d) 0

12 = 2^2 * 3

Now 12 ^55 = (2^2 * 3 )^ 55

= (2^110*3^55)

Now 12 ^55/ 3^11 = (2^110*3^55)/3^11

=2^110*3^44

Cyclicity of 2 is 4

Hence 2^110 wil give last digit as 4

Cyclicity of 3 is 4

Hence 3^44 wil give last digit as 1

Now 2^110*3^44 wil give the last digit as :

4*1 = 4

8^48/16^18 = (2^3)^48/ (2^4) ^18

= 2^144/ 2^72

= 2^72

Cyclicity of 2 is 4 so 2^72 wil give us the last digit as 6

Now 12^55/3^11 + 8^48/16^18 = 4 + 6 = 0

Hope I am clear don't know y the answer given in my book is 4 ...

hi.can anyone please give me the explanation for these mensuration problems:
1.If the cone is cut along its axis from the middle,what is the new shape we obtain after opening the paper?
2.A cone is made of a sector with a radius of 14cm and an angle of 60 degrees.what is the TSA of the cone?
3.If there is no spacing between any 2 consecutive turns and the width of string be x cm,then what is the required length of the string?
4.If the string is wound on the exterior 4 walls of a cube of side a cm starting at point C and ending at point D exactly above C,making equally spaced 4 turns.What is the side of the cube?

1.) it shud be a sector of circle with radius equal to that of the slant height of the cone...is this the rt ans?
2) the radius will be the slant height and the arc will be the circumference...you are asked to find out the total surface area which is pie* r * l + pie * r^2....i hope u can solve this now:)
3) not clear...i think some data about the radius is missing...
4)boss the ans is in the question...its a cms...i guess the length of the string shud be a cm thn i can solve it...pls chk

hi.can someone pls solve this:
A dishonest trader marks up his goods by 80% and gives discount of 25%.besides he gets 20% more amont per kg from wholesaler and sells 10% less per kg to customer.What is the overall profit percentage?

total effect s.p = 80 -25 - (80*25)/100 = 35
now let c. p = 100 then s.p = 135
at c. p = 100 the merchant get 120 grams
at s. p = 135 he sells 90 grams
profit = 30/90 * 100 = 33.33 %(this is due to the goods sold n goods left)
overall profit will be = 33.33 + 35 + 33.33*35/100 = 80%
Nos with 1 digit = 9
Nos with two digit = 99 - 9 = 90
Nos with three digit = 999 - 99 = 900

So total digits upto 999 = 2700 + 180 + 9 = 2889

Remaining = 28383 - 2889 = 25494

So the numbers with four digit until the 28383rd term = 25494/4 = 6373 Remainder 2

So 999 + 6373 = 7372

So 2nd term of nest number 7373 = 3

Answer ---- 3
Hope this is correct

but the answer is not 3 ,it means answer is wrong in arun sharma

Hi puys,

Please help me out with this prob --> find inverse of f(t) = (10^t-10^-t)/(10^t + 10^-t) is

(A) 1/2log{(1-t)/(1+t)}

(B)0.5log{(t-1)/(t+1)}
(C)1/2log(base10){(2^t-1)}
(D)None of the above.

I am getting answer as 0.5log{-(1+t)/t-1)} which is not in the option.please tell where i am doing the mistake.it is a ques no16 of functions LOD 3
