hello sir,
i want to ask that is dis coll only for defence qoata
hello sir,
i want to ask that is dis coll only for defence qoata

This college has 90% seats for Defence Personnel and 10% for industry sponsored.

I have pretty decent score in SNAP with 2 yrs of workex.

I'm keen to apply for SIMS.

But they have confused regarding the definition of wards of Excervicemen.

One one hand they are saying:
1. (From Admition category page):Dependants of serving Army, Navy or Air force (hereinafter termed as Defence) personnel, pensioners of regular Army, Navy or Air force, ex-servicemen including ex-Short Service Officers & MNS officers who have taken retirement after 10 years of completed service (without pensionary benefit), War Widows who are in receipt of liberalized pension, TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service, are eligible to apply.
source: SYMBIOSIS SIMS - Cultural Convention 2007
2. On the other they are saying (Eligibility criteria page)
B. Candidate under Defence category should be a dependant of a serving Defence Personnel or Ex-Servicemen. The category of Ex-Serviceman is as defined vide Ministry of Defence; Govt. of India letter No. 36034/5/85-Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987.
source: SYMBIOSIS SIMS - Eligibility For MBA

My case:
My Father got retired from Regular Army after 4.5 years of service (without pension) in year 1966, and later joined Defence Security Corps (DSC) and served for 26+ years and retired with pensionary benifits and retired on 1992.

The eligibility of the retired Defence personnel to the status of ex-Servicemen is governed by the definition as laid down by Department of Personnel and Training. (Govt. of India letter No. 36034/5/85-Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987.)
The eligibility of the person to the status of ex-Servicemen will be governed by the definition in vogue at the time of his discharge and will not be affected by the changes in the definition subsequent to his discharge.

Hence i fullfill the said condition of clause: Those released before 01 Jul 68.

And, since the definition of mimimum 10 years of service applies to Those released on or after 01 Jul 87

Why then they are misleading/confusing the applicants by this 10 years condition, which is only for those who have retired after 01 July 87????:-x
Why they did not mention all the clauses of Defination of Exservicemen as laid down by Ministry of Defence, Deptt. of Personnal & Training Govt. of India letter No. 36034/5/85-Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987.?????????

seniors please clarify for the concerned deptt..

Whether should i apply or not?........:snipersm:

as i send them an email long time back, but no reply...

hey scores coming out to be around 65
10th 81%
12th 82%
