i am just a little confused.. . i mean in a GD they give u a case study and you are supposed to speak on that... or is it something else.
also can someone please put up the various case studies online..

well it goes like this!
i wrote very little about myself in the short essay, just describing myself as a daughter ,as a friend and as a professional as perceived by my teachers. but i could not write any thing about my problem , how i solved it etc.........because there was no time left.
then my case study went ok
about my first interview they asked me that tell me about urself. i said that my father is a serving indian army officer, my mother is a teacher teaching at APS, Patiala and my brother is an engineer and also an mba graduate right now working in delhi.
then they asked me where is he working. i mentioned the company he is working at.
then continuing with my previous ans i mentioned my strengths as meticulousness, energetic and candid.
then they asked that why do u want to do mba
i answered that i believe i have some innate managerial qualities which i will be able to harness to full potential if i do mba and exploit them at my workplace along with my technical(engg) acumen.
then they asked which stream do u prefer?
i said that though i'm open to all the fiels but i have a little bent towards finanace
then they said that tell us some latest financial news?
i answered the rising of the sensex
the next ques they asked was that what is sensex?
i said that it is an index of some listed companies whose basal points are added and when there is buying the index rises and when there is selling the index drops down
then they asked that tell us some more finanacial news
i just mentioned without thinking the reliance demerger
they said that that was a stale news
then i mentioned the LN mittal bid for arcelor
then they said that have u read newspapers for the preparation
i said that no! i'm in the habit of reading newspapers since i appeared for my ssb last year in june 2005.
then they said that are u serious about joining sims
i said that i'm very very serious abt joining sims
then they asked that have u appeared for any other exams
i said that no sir i have not appeared for any other exam other than snap
then they said thanku u can go
i thanked them and left
now about the second interview:-
after the greeting stuff, the first ques the other panelists asked me that tell us smthng about urself
i mentioned about my dad, my mum amd my bro and when i was just abt to mention my strengths they interrrupted and said what have u done and i replied tht i have done engg in electrical
then the next ques they popped up was that after doin mba would u like to join defence
than i replied that after doing mba i wont go for defence services
the next question they asked me that what is leadership
i replied to this ques in a very stupid manner - i said that a leader is a person who stands behind the back of his people and being self motivated motivates his people to achieve personal as well as organizational goals in a stipulated period of time, who is there with them even in hardships to acquire what is reqd.... and the interrupption followed with sum ques i dont remember
but then i mentioned the example of army that in army also they want a leader who can support 100 men below him
and then i follwed the ans with mahatma gandhi, bhagat singh etc whom the masses followed
with this they asked that was subhash chander bose also a leader and i said yes definitely
so they asked me that whose ideology i would prefer to follow- MK ganghi or SC bose
and i said that though i disagree with some of the practices followed by gandhi..........interrupted again and they asked me that we want one ans
and i said SC bose
they asked why
and i said that he had the ability to influence the youth whereas gandhi was very diplomatic he wanted dominion status at former stage and then...............interrupted again then they asked that what do knw about bhindrawla
i siad that i dont the details of the issue but i knw that he was responsible for the 1984riots and his hideout in shri harimandir sahib caused a shootout at that place which destroyed the temple ..........

i mentioned the same reason as above
then they asked me sumthng i don remember
for which i said that could i think for a couple of seconds and answer
then they siad that yes u can keep on thinking about this after the intervw and said that u can leave
i got shit nervous but didnt show it and then they saked me that is there anythng i would like to ask them
and i said that nothing in particular
after which i was asked to leave and i left

chilll dude...first it can b anything jus listen to what the panelist says..well i had mine on 3rd and our panelist he made everyone speak one by one..but my fren who attended on 5th said they were alowed to discuss it at there own free will..so...i think u got the answer to your question...most important enjoy the process i know i can say this sitting here but i was also nervous at that time..so the right ans is get over the nervousness curve as soon as u can..will do good to you..ATB

hey sakhshi don't worry pal..its not bad...infact they were jus cross checking you...the first round was damn good..second round you could have been more specific and to the point..anyhow...if ur score is good in snap you do stand a chance..it might have been a stress interview...so chilll

I know i have sort of disappeared ever since my GD/PI got over but just had been caught up with other things....its nice to see people pouring in with their experiences and more so getting to know each other so that out of who amke it to SIMS would have some famliar people atleast..........gr8 work pple.....
so the 8th today.....hmmm.....the interview must be underway in b'lore....for that matter the 2nd batch wld have started........B'lore pple tell us how the process was for u so that we can get to know if its same throughout or there were a few changes introduces to add the element of suprise..............
