@amalrishi : First of all laptop not compulsory its either lap or desktop or Nuthin at all....ur call totally.....regarding acknowledgement i had sent thru army post so they had to send an ack back, moreover a confirmation on fone's enuff no worries regarding that.......about study material - shud reach within 2 weeks they said.......whenevr anyone recvs it they wil post it here so tat we'll know and take action as reqd.
About spclztn it was mentioned during presentation on GD day that course can be selected after 1st sem and what the criteria is even they didnt know (the students i mean)....it is pretty obvious i think that based on results the spclztn will be given ....the top ones can take any they like anyways.....

First n foremost ur choice.....d rationale behind dis ws dat they can't force u to do sumtnhg dat u r not inrtstd in,hence gettin saddled wid it for d rest of ur life!!,then its a combination of ur SNAP score n ur 1st sem. results.
Nw im not sure of dis latest development of it bcumin purely merit based.But my take on dis is dat i think implementing such a step is neither possible nor advisable.

well Dude rishi : see its confirmed by SIMS administration tht specialistion is given as per merit and it was confirmed to last batch too but in the end every did got their choice
so relax and work smartly in sims , m sure u ll get what u wanna do in life

- sahil ..good work buddy..yes thats the procedure i believe will be followed in order to get the laptops/desktops in SIMS..
- amal..anything will do...laptop/desktop..the funda is to stay connected..!!and yes..first sem exam result is the benchmark to determine wat specialisation suits u...
- raghav..the confirmation letter manu is talking about is the aknowledgement one gets in return wen one sends a registerd post to some place...so manu sent her draft to sims by post and so she got that confirmation slip back wich says..sims has got her envelope enclosing the darft posted by her...am i right manu?....?? :satisfie:

thnx for the point frieden but it seems as far as the material is concerned well i chkd up and the guy over the phone told me tht the material wuld be sent in may end!Anyways we shall find out as soon as nybody gets their material.
Also dear regarding specialization well raghav says all seniors got wat they wntd last year and well sonal says tht its definately based on ur first sem result!!

we were never supposed 2 get spez on our merit of first sem. results ppl. we made our preference while fillin the SIMS forms only n we were called for GD/PI on that preference only.....
u ppl have 2 compete in the first time for spez ........ there r no 2 ways abt it.......so all the very best..
we ppl here v r havin our 2nd sem exams n then immediately goin for summers.... so may be from now on won't be able 2 interact with u ppl so much...... good 2 know u ppl this much..... hope 2 see u at SIMS in july......take care everybody......

This is precisely what I have been hapring upon in a lot of my previous posts regarding spez....However,guess people have been too busy to go through the earlier posts and rake up the issue again......No offence man but Amalrishi...this issue has alreday been discussed a lotta times before........
Last year while filling up the form you had to give your choice of spez and then you were just competing for that....and when the results came in either you got the spez that you wanted or you didn't get admission at all.......This year however,admission has been granted but without any spez being given out......So at the end of the frst sem when you are to make the choice of your spez.....cz there are fixed seats for each spez.....thats where your frst sem results come into picture......incase the nbr of applicants for a paticular spez are less than the seats alloted then you'll have no problems in getting that...however if the case is otherwise then on the basis of the frst sem results the divisions are made.......Hope its all clear now.........

Hey guys.... went to bank today (SBI) for loan thingy AND am in deep..crap!!! AICTE not approved Sims, so wont get loan.......i dun understand as far as i know some seniors HAVE taken loan from SBI so hows that possible.
if possible can sumone who knows a senior who has taken loan, PM the fone no. to me so that i can resolve this issue asap.
PS- yeah amal that is Rose's img but am changing it to.....well guess these guys!
