Ok so i had gone to sims again and this time had the chance of talking to a senior all thanks to naveen.
1) Mattress is provided
2) College does not have any tie-up with any company regarding laptops
3) The examination fees mentioned in fine print is applicable only when you have backlogs during your course.
4) I requested for the prospectus and told them that i wanted it for bank loan and stuff, so they gave me a sheet certifying that i am studying in the college and the fee structure. They said this sheet is more helpful when approaching the banks. (Of course i also got them to give the prospectus
)
5) The study material will be sent once the admission process gets over which will be somewhere in 2nd week april
6) The uniform is worn only on occassions and not daily so you need to get a good stock of formals.
Hope i clarified some points

yes madam...there is a second list wich is up on the SIMS website...and its the SECOND merit list ....simply stated people who are IN or who have made it.........so wats ur story?
And with regards to the reciept of the DD it would be OK to call SIMS accounts and get ur DD reciept confirmed.
Later ...........
You can call up the college and ask them if they have received ur dd......
abhi98mushran SaysYou can call up the college and ask them if they have received ur dd......
its a pity that this thread which was the primary SIMS discussion media has kinda lost out to Orkut.......but lets hope it never dies out......
hi there,
i am from mumbai university (BCom Background) , and we have internal exams (conducted by the college) in the first 2 years. and in the third yr we have the university exams (which i believe is the case in all the three yrs in most of the universities).
My problem is that i have scored below 50% in the forst 2 yrs. But i am confident getting above 50 in my third year. though i am not sure if my 3 yrs aggregate will be above 50.
So will SIMS consider only the third yr marks or the aggregate for all the three years.
thanks in advance

Regarding the reservation percentage and fees you'll need to contact the admissions department at SIMS since the institute now comes under Symbiosis International University.
Secondly the cut off for snap varies every year so nobody can actually tell you the exact cutoff
It is not difficult for an industry sponsored student since he goes through the same procedure as a regular applicant.
i hope that clarifies some of your doubts
Hey!!!!
it would be really helpful if you cud help me with the following details....

Hi!!!
1. It wud be slightly difficult to tell the expected cut off in SNAP for SIMS becoz no one can tell the difficulty level of the paper. last year it was around 55 marks but yes overall profile is considered for INTERVIEW CALLS. considering last yearz paper i think 60 - 65 marks wud be safe enough to get an INTERVIEW CALL.
2. We have 10% INDUSTRY SPONSORED QUOTA.... yeah thats different from MANAGEMENT QUOTA. The proceedures are same as normal student but one has to bring a SPONSORSHIP LETTER from a COMPANY. also the FEE STRUCTURE is different and high for sponsored students.
i hope it helps !!!!

Hello,What is the annual student intake in SIMS.
Hi .....a friend of mine got into SIMS last year with a SNAP score of 52.5 . The admission of SIMS is restricted to Defence personell dependents and industry sponsored candidates.
This is what their site says :
Categories
- Defence Open Category
80% vacancies for the full time courses offered by SIMS shall be allotted to dependents of defence personnel on the basis of their performance in the entrance process on merit. - Defence Special Reservation Category
10% vacancies on full time courses are allotted by SIMS management in consultation with HQ Southern Command for dependents of Defence Personnel affected as under:- Killed in action (War, Counter- Insurgency or War-like operations)
- Next of kin of service personnel who have died/been disabled while in service and are awarded Special / Liberalised Family Pension. (Admission is subject to condition that the candidate meets the laid down eligibility criteria and subject to merit in the selection process.)
- Killed in action (War, Counter- Insurgency or War-like operations)
- Industry Sponsored Category
10% vacancies are for Industry / sponsored candidates in open category. This category is open to those students who are sponsored by industry for full time programmes. (Admission would be subject to condition that the candidate meets the laid down qualitative requirements and will be required to go through the selection process like other students.)

Hi Guys,
Wonderin if neone cud help me out wit ths.
I'm a son of a defence personnel & I have completed my BE with 57%
But I have not completed my BE degree in the first attempt.
The website:snaptest.org says that the eligibility criteria for admission to SIMS is 50% or more marks in aggregate of full time bachelor's level degree through 10+2+3/4 mode, in single attempt, from a statutory university. But SIMS website(sims.edu) doesn't say anything about the number of attempt.
Also could neone explain the meaning of single attempt.(no KTs or wat??)
Thanks
