i also wanted to know wht kind of gd/pi to expect??? pi's are more acads based or stress interviews?? and also the gd's are abstract/on current affairs/case studies?? wht's the trend in SIMS basically for the past 2 yrss...?

in the application form its mentioned tht candidates frm general category (ie sponsored ones) will nt have placemnts n summers frm collge the company sponsoring it will have to arrane summers n final placemnts for the candidate
can any seniors plz confimr it as the last date is approaching
Can anyone throw light abt the defence Quota... My father was in the Indian Army for arnd 8 Yrs... Will dis duration be considered as under Ex-service men category??? Or their ranks during their service is considered for our admission?

yes.......u are eligible...provided u r able to furnish all the certificates.....that r required in support of ur being a dependent of defence personnel!!!!!!!

well yes..........since its clearly mentioned in the prospectus n the application form that sponsored candidates will have to arrange for their owm placements.....so the question of any confusion does not arise...!!!!!!that's how it will b...!!!!!
i am expecting 48-52 in snap. can i expect a call from sims under defence quota??? do they see only snap marks or they see 10,12,degree n extra curricular activites also?? i have gud marks in 10,12 n graduation...plz let me know is there any chances of getting call??????
well the chances of u gtting call are pretty bleak.......but dont lose hope....keep ur figers crossed......since u have mentioned that u ve got good academic record....u might just sneak thru...!!!!!!!all d bst..!!!! :)::)::)::)::)

u have pretty gud chances of gettin a call for GDPI.... so start preparing .....for it.
Gentleman with that i have a query now, 1) Can General ppl other than Defence background can apply and get it to SIMS, if yes 2) How many open category people have got in last yr. 3) What was d cutoff last yr. 4) I am expecting 60 odd marks in this SNAP, do I stand a chance, with following profile: SSC - 59, HSC - 64, B.COM - 55, then PGDFM - 70. also have work-ex of 2.5 years. 5) Is SIMS is good B'School for Finance, I don't see much problem wid packages as it is simple if it is good B'School you got to get well.:grab:

hey dhaval... me frm 07-09 batch of SIMS off course its a gud b school n u can apply through industry sponsored category.... this time amongst our seniors all industry sponsored candidates sat for placements which means u can get placements also from college... but wud nt set wrong expectations ... SIMS is not known for Finance stream... it is nt at all bad but .... SIMS is known for HR and Marketing

2...seniors please help me with this..i have joined my company in september...completed a 2 months trainin and im on bench since then..have no hopes of getting any projects till jan what am I supposed to tell about my work ex during PI's

n as per cutoff is concerned it largely depends upon number of people applying....
dude take it seriously or u wil suffer .... coz ur SOP wil be with d interviewer.... they wil go through it n thn ur interview u .... n i m requesting u all nt to nything false or misdirect aspirants regarding how to go abt it ...... or write anything bad abt college....
can some students of SIMS please throw some light on what all gd topics they got...n wt was general cadre of questions asked in PI...as most of us freshers here...we simply have no clue!

its difficult but there is a possiblility of u gettin a GDPI call.... dont loose hope....
