wel...............i can see above a lot of false information being floated around...........its not solely for defence personnel & their dependents........although 80% seats are reserved for them.................................the rest 20% comprises of management quota and industry sponsored seats....thru which..........general or ppl wid non defence background can apply...............

Hii , I am stuck up with writing objectives , career goals, why MBA frm sims...in 200 words.. het ppl plz help me out by telling how to answer above mentioned question.. also plz tell me how to make a start to such questions.. i.e. do we have to write our intro.. i.e name, background etc..etc.. or ideally how it should start.. how many paras.. then what content in which para.. plz plz help ..its very urgent.... not gettin how to start..p plz post any sample essay if anyone referred while appling to sims...

i wasn't trying to spread false info rodger sir all i meant ws tht majority is for defence personnel kids n i did post the eligibilty link frm the website for clarification.... other than tht i have a query wht is the applicant/seats ratio of SIMS?? and wht is the gd/pi like??? thank you
I called up sims aand they said there are no management seats alao.There are only industry sponsored seats at sims......If someone studying there could please help and let me know , if theer are management quota seats for general category people or not.....
Also they told, for industry sponsored, the industry should have an turnover of 25crore atleast per year and should visit sims campus for placements....

Gentleman with that i have a query now, 1) Can General ppl other than Defence background can apply and get it to SIMS, if yes 2) How many open category people have got in last yr. 3) What was d cutoff last yr. 4) I am expecting 60 odd marks in this SNAP, do I stand a chance, with following profile: SSC - 59, HSC - 64, B.COM - 55, then PGDFM - 70. also have work-ex of 2.5 years. 5) Is SIMS is good B'School for Finance, I don't see much problem wid packages as it is simple if it is good B'School you got to get well.:grab:

last year 645 called for total seats including mngmt and industry sponsd ............................... if u will get call u will go thru 2 pi and one case study.................... in pi they will ask any thing ur gk should be up2date ..........................one statment of pupose u rite now and one they will ask u 2 write just before interview in 5 min and ask u question after going thru ur both statmnt of purps so rite ur statmnt of pups on ur own and one psychometric test also

u can apply thru industry sponsd and mngmt seats u have 2.5 years work ex so good chance of getnf call .................................last year cutt off was around 50 plus but if ur acads r not good and without work ex so u will not get call at 50 and this time snap was easy so u can guess cut off.

m worried about one thing unfortunately due to super disastrous time management i cudn't do the maths section at all i mean no questions but other than tht i have done bout m not so sure but about 75 questions wit almost 90% accuracy cud u plz tell me whether a zero in maths wud make a diff to my call??? m very worried plz help out!!!
hey shreya, sorry to dissappoint ya but actuallt speaking it would b a tad difficult to get a call with a zero attempt in math,but there is hope if u get a 62-65 in snap cause then u would be a bit better off than those just barely clearing the cut off...but dont lose hope..therez a chance!

Dude... with a 60 in snap u can expect a call for sure...and ur grad n 10,12th marks dont matter so much if u go and ace the interview! and work ex counts!so even if u have a 55 u can get a call plus they`ll ask ya on ur work and not ur grad!..

can some students of SIMS please throw some light on what all gd topics they got...n wt was general cadre of questions asked in PI...as most of us freshers here...we simply have no clue!

Well i dont think Degree and Diploma Matters its Demand and Supply!! There r very fiew people who apply (quota) so cuttoff last year was 45 one of my friend had got call!! this year also it will come down surely!! i had 52 last year and was rejected after GDPI!!
