Similar pattern! :)

To all those having interviews for RBI Grade B 2015 - I understand you can't share your interview experience at the moment. But I request you to share your questions, once interviews are over for everyone. It will be a great help for future aspirants. Thank you.

One of my friends is done with his interview. Will share his experience tomorrow or at the earliest when I can.

So this friend walks in.

Before he sits: So where are you from? (Him standing up) Sir, from Bangalore. Panel: So what are you doing all the way here? *Insert answer*. Please sit down. Sits.

Hes done his engineering with a Masters in economics. Quite strange really. So they asked him why. Then they asked him a few more questions on his engineering subjects. Why the switch to economics and why banking.

(He wasnt able to answer most of the engineering questions and hed said hed loved engineering then thats why he took it up so they werent very impressed.)

Then they asked him as to what he was doing the last two years. (UPSC) Maybe they liked him being honest and he said they smiled.

Will you opt for UPSC if you get a job there? He said yes.

Then they asked him how peak season credit policy is different from slack season credit policy.

They asked him a lot about his hobbies - basketball and yoga. Different types of yoga, what are his preferences, opinion about the recent govt campaign on yoga etc.

And some general cross questioning everywhere to test his depth of knowledge.

Overall the second part of the interview went well for him(Interview lasted about 20-25minutes). He told me that one or two of the candidates were even asked about the hydrogen bomb that North Korea had developed, what is hydrogen bomb, how it works etc. (if they were from engineering background).

Anyone who took Economics as Optional?

Future Aspirant 2016

Do they ever select people who are not from IIT/IIM background and no work ex,but engg+ Mba with decent marks and college?

Does anyone has the link to Phase-II questions?? Please do share.!!

4) About current affairs related to Indian economy

5) About state bifurcation and happenings in Andhra Pradesh( I belonged to Telangana)

My interview 20 Jan hyd 1)why left sbi in 6mnts..bcoz of u one fellow lost oppurtunity--couldnt explain😩 2)u did Mba finance why selected eco optnal in exam--lookd like not satisfied with my ans😰 Then about inflatn, cpi, wpi, difference ,why change in their rates currently, why views of Rbi n govt differing on rate cut, them few questns on finance...they taken my joining in central excise from sbi negatively ...that may hurt my selectn chances very badly...panel cordial..all the best to evry one

We reported at 9. First document verification and biometric scan. We were "advised" not to share our experiences as it is a tough competition, every mark matters blah blah blah. It was just an advice. Not a rule. Anyways Interviews started at 10. 14 members per day. I was the 6th one to be interviewed. The first few minutes I was asked how I felt about the new pattern of Phase 2 compared to previous years ( I mentioned that I've written it before in my biodata form ). There was a lot of discussion. Next question on my hobbies(not too many hobbies - not many . Later on questions on banking - PSB vs Private banks in terms of functioning, NPA s, return on assets, Profitability etc etc. ( It was a total disaster. ) I was asked if I ever attended UPSC interview. Current affairs - Chinese economy - it's affect on world and especially India (This went on for about 5 minutes - and it went well) . Nepal crisis - India's role ( not too much of cross questioning but ya they did ask quite a few - it was a 6-7 month old issue but I manged to answer well ) Why did I leave my previous job ? Why am I unemployed ? ( I resigned my job as bank PO ) Why RBI now ? What do you think you'll be able to do ? What do you think are the 3 primary functions of RBI ? It was a 6 member panel. Everyone is very cordial. But they were also checking my confidence levels and temperament by being sarcastic, indifferent sometimes.

For example, they asked me a question, "How much NPAs do the bank have right now ?" I quoted some figure which I remember. Immediately a panel member said (with a smile) "Seriously? With that high % of NPAs banks would collapse." I said "Yes sir, that's the latest number according to some report" The member seemed dissatisfied and was nodding NO NO. Another panel member interfered and said, "It's OK sir. Leave it. We might not be knowing the latest numbers." (Such senior members not knowing such a basic number like NPAs % is a joke. They were just playing me.) This brought my confidence down. Also, it happened during the first 10 minutes of my interview. So it did play a role in dampening my interview later. I checked the figures later and I was actually right. So it's extremely important to keep your cool and be confident.

( I wasn't satisfied with my interview as I did not answer few questions just because of pressure. Of course it was a great learning experience. 😃 ) And yes roasted almonds were given along with Hide n seek and other biscuits and a tea 😉 Also RBI looks awesome . Just like any other corporate office 😃 I'll continue and try to contribute to the group as much as I can. All the best everyone

Update : Final result - IN . I scored 33 marks out of 50. After all it wasn't that bad 😉 I can only give one suggestion -  I remember answering a veryyyy basic factual question wrong and still was not penalised. So, Interview is not just test of your knowledge. It's a lot about your personality and attitude. It's important to be cool and assertive.

😃
