Anybody opted for statistics as an optional paper???? How were the questions??

Hi all.. My interview experience today.

9-10 am there was document verification and biometric scan. Mine was 2nd in order. I was first asked why do you want to join RBI. Then other interests, questions on that. Why there is issue on call drops ( as I worked in communication sector). Then Monetary policy, inflation and effects on exchange rate, micro finance institutions, payment banks, funtions of RBI, my strengths and weaknesses..

Some questions they weren't fully satisfied, they explained when I couldn't get to the exact point. others were ok.

Anyone here appeared for NABARD Grade A/B last year or working ??...I have a query..We have to choose an optional in NABARD like we did in RBI or all the papers are compulsory??...If all are compulsory then how to prepare for statistics part and finance part...also to solve the type of numericals asked in rbi in finance paper, what is the best source..??

This is for serious guys: Please guide the complete course of study I/we should take where I am an engineering graduate with no or "zero" knowledge of economics/finance. And if i start studying from today itself for upcoming RBI exam(hope it's 2016) then what books, which chapters, what sites, magazine AND IN WHAT WAY should I read and what steps should be taken to make it to the final list.(You can share the whole plan also.) This post's genuine reply will surely help me and others alike to decide a path to be taken towards chennai training centre of RBI. Please take out a little bit of your time to contribute in someone's success. P.S.: feel free to tag the guys in comments who can provide a worthy solution and also who earlier have made it to the RBI.

Please help me with this:

I took Finance and Management as the optional for Mains. I have been preparing for UPSC. So I brushed up the Economics part done for UPSC for Finance and studied the management part separately. But I found that the questions asked in finance part were very CA oriented, which I cannot solve.

1. People who took economics - Can you plz give me your reviews of Economics as an optional?

2. Should I take economics next time?

Hi. I know this might have been asked a lot many times, but I am asking this again, as i haven't found an answer yet. Does RBI conduct the grade b exam every year. Please shed some light so that I can start preparing accordingly. I am sure many aspiring candidates want to know this. Help will be appreciated.

Veterans on the forum kindly enlighten...

Is there any fast track promotion policy in RBI for Grade B Officers through internal exams for reaching to next Grade at a faster pace than usual seniority based promotions? What is the criteria to be eligible for such exams?

I know it's too early to ask, but just curious to know..

No. Students shld go through d process of exms from young age
Yes. It wl hlp students think laterally n explore creativity
Ans given is both correct. But my logic is "exam can be designed in a way to nurture lateral thinking n creativity. Thn y option two is considered a strong argumnt?
