‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’. Little did I know that the journey which I once embarked on with that single step will now be a few hundred. Yes, I’m talking about the journey of entering into the world of 'MBA’ and getting admitted into one of the finest institutions in India - Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Hyderabad.
It feels like yesterday when I appeared for my NMAT exam and here I am, amongst all the other students who have made it this far into this college. It’s already been a couple of months and there are new faces everywhere but it does not feel strange. It feels like we are a part of one big family, with similar goals and backgrounds but distinct and unique ideas. This is the beauty of doing an MBA at NMIMS Hyderabad.
Here, the holistic development of the students is a priority, for which the focus is not only on academics but also on other spheres of life as well. Activities like sports, online B-school events and quizzes, group assignments, and live projects are there to keep the students busy apart from studying. You even get to be a part of several clubs and committees that’ll broaden your horizon and skill set, in the field of your liking. From theatrics to finance, from sports to organising cultural events, we have just the perfect blend of clubs to attract your attention.
The campus is spread over 90 acres of land. So, the walk from the hostel to the academic block is something you’ll never forget. Talking about the exam you have prepared for, the assignment which you have to submit, or simply making plans for going out on a weekend, that 5-minute walk is all you need to strike a conversation with anyone. And you cannot get enough of the view out here. If only I could put it into words. It’s blissful. The food menu here is varied enough to keep your appetite and mind, full. Getting bored in the hostel? We have amenities like a games room that will keep you hooked, a gymnasium - a place to break your sweat and an entertainment room where you can relax and binge-watch your favourite movie or a show.
In short, my 2 months of stay here have made me grow so much that I never could have imagined. It feels surreal that what I’d dreamed of once, is now my reality. And there’s still a long road ahead and I feel humbled to start my new journey here, at NMIMS Hyderabad!
