@sheshadre do u have any idea about how the CGPA in btech is going to affect the interview and selection , specially if low cg (say 6)......Also say if cg is high(say 7.5-9.0)?
@sheshadre Hi, iam a software engineer hving 4 yrs experience and am from chemical engineering background who had cleared sail written exam 2012. what are te type of questions they will ask me can you tell me.
@cooldude13 both are very broad subject areas and if you could cover 'em both then nothing like it... they'll focus more on your industrial training and ask you industry relevant questions. I would suggest going thorough your industrial training manuals and brushing up what you did for your final year project
@finger a good cgpa will ALWAYS reflect good on ur resume dude but a low cgpa isn't that big a hinderance in a PSU interview. if you've done well in your writtens and if your PI is good enough then you needn't worry that much.. BUT ensure that you're marks meet the minimum requirements given by SAIL... because if they don't then that would certainly be a problem. apart from that its not that big a problem

@getsponline i know but 50% satisfaction would certainly be better than a -10% !
.... btw which site where were yon unluckily enough sent to???

@akumars003 dude usually takes about 2-3 months for interview calls(which i guess have already been called) and the results take another 2 months... there are 4 interview centers in the four metros and the calls needn't necessarily be zonal wise... (i am from Delhi and my interview was in Kolkata!! 😛 )
@prasadsvn84 i have many friends in my batch who've had 4+ yrs exp in IT sector (infy, cts etc). they'll be just be asking why SAIL and nothing more. But i would seriously like you to re-consider your decision if you're joining for the money coz its going to be WAY LOW than what you're getting and the change can be a bit un-settling for you as well. Chem Engg. WILL get the worst possible postings (production zones) like Coke Ovens( in which yours truly works) and these places are like something which i am PRETTY sure you could never ever imagine after being in a software organization {you can forget plush offices, coffee machines, air conditioning and for that matter clean toilets as well 😉 }... so i would request you to consider again if you do decide to switch
30k give or take 2k
i know its going to be a real eye opener for most of you guys 😁
@@sheshadre i have been working in tcs for the past 10 months ,are dey going to ask specific questions about my job experience and one more thing, will an IT industry work ex count here?
is group discussion elimination round in sail??????
gd is not an elimination round.
@indra589 your work experience might not contribute that much as you might hope for... and regarding PIs they might ask you why are you interested in switching your fields so i suggest you prepare for it
@vinay.cool1512 no negative effects here broda.. regarding preparations read a bit of your electrical subjects like machines and power systems(brief brush-up).. just be 100% sure whether you want to join this job or not because the comforts and the glitz of a software company is simply not present here. My IT waali junta friends here is frustrated to the max(one of them being from TCS Kol himself.. 😉 )
