SAIL 2012 MT(T/A) discussion

@mechsuyog do u have any idea about venue of interview of mechanical branch last years...me too of mechanical..
@sheshadre
@sheshadre thank u sir..
@sheshadre what question will they ask for guys switching from other psu to sail?? is thr any bond in sail??
@sheshadre
what do you mean by ""already been called"" in your last reply to me???????
also kindly say about positive or negative effects of pursuing m tech in IITs in the interview.
@akumars003 following the threads i thought that interview dates have already been given... and how can a m.tech from IITs have a negative effect??

@sheshadre sir i am presently doing m.tech..so it would create negative or positive effect on interviewer. what Q they may ask regarding dis.?
@reetii I have many colleagues who have completed their M.Techs and joined SAIL. SAIL also provides you an opportunity to join after completing your M.Tech in the extension batches(the details of extension batches is not known to me, Sorry about it!")... so if you're pursuing a higher degree, its always leaves a positive impact
@sheshadre no interview dates have been disclosed till now..
negative effects like why u want to quit IIT m tech and want to join sail??????

@sunny1987 there used to be a bond when i joined and in it was there for the subsequent batch(2011) as well. but the nature of the bond or the bond altogether it-self has been removed.. i'll post more on this forum about the bond after inquiring about it from my juniors... and if you're switching from a PSU then i guess that the bonds are transferable.. again no knowledge in this filed but will let you know
@akumars003 yeah.. that's not a negative effect but its a method to judge your resolve to join the company... so if you're really serious about it then you can prepare you're replies accordingly... in no way your pursuit of an M.tech is going to hamper your chances in selection.
@sheshadre ne idea bout wat to prepare fr instru?
@indra589 naah dude i'm a vidyutiya abhiyantar..
ok
@sheshadre
sir, what is the work culture in sail??
n can u tell me about the promotion policy??

@Umasri work culture 😁 :D.. like any other government organization... for girls its very cool.. so you needn't worry.. promotion policies is the same like for any other PSU
@sheshadre
sir, im a fresher..
so, no idea about promotion policy in other psu's..

see these are the grades and the time period in which you will be promoted to the next grade

1. E1(4 yrs :- 1 yr training, 1 yr probation, 2yrs in grade) {Junior Manager}

2. E2(3 yrs) :- Assistant manger

3. E3(3 yrs):- Deputy manager

4. E4(3 yrs):- Manager

5. E5( 3 yrs) :- Senior Manager

6. E6(minimum 3 yrs/conditional) :- Assistant General manager

7. E7(minimum 3yrs/conditional) :- Deputy General Manager

and then comes the GM, EDs and COOs {long way there!}

usually there are no hinderances up until E5 and after its really performance based...

@sheshadre
Awesome sir..
Thanks a ton.. :-))
@october_nights i worker in vedanta myself before joining here in SAIL. true that working in a pvt company does take away the hours but a gap in your career path won't reflect well.. so i would suggest carry on with the job... and its not very hard to crack the PSU exams like SAIL et al.... just takes the right approach... so IMO continue with your work and sweat it out for a PSU written... its not impossible you know.. :)
