Sbi interview and gd experience (sorry for the delay, wanted to do much earlier but couldn't do because of internet issues)
Location : SBI LHO Patna, Sept 9, 11 a.m
Gd topic: relevance of joint family in today's society ( Of all the topics that they could have given, they choose to give this! )
Everyone was given two minutes to speak (anybody could start but we weren't allowed to interrupt, a precautionary step to prevent gd from becoming a fish market ). Later everyone was given an additional minute to put forward their points.
Interview : five panel members, one female (F) four male (m1)...
F : tell me what have you learnt from your public relations course ( I had a diploma in public relations )

F: okay I was listening to your points in gd and based on that I want to know your views on the following question. Should celebration of Valentine's day be allowed and supported?
Me: yes, why not? ( I guess I was too frank, but I had an amazing panel, they just wanted to know my views and were themselves quite frank with me)
M1 (he was the one heading the panel ) : you tell us why not, or why should we support it
Me : told that v day was a celebration and everyone has the right to celebrate, and celebrating something can never be wrong....etc.
M2(this guy really read out from a paper) : modi says that our economy is to grow at 7 per cent and cad is declining . Do u agree?
Me : yes, gave reasons
M3: what is fdi ?
Me : told
M3 : govt is considering to hike fdi in defence. What do you think?
Me : told it was a good move considering the Indian defence sector is not making any breakthrough, foreign investment in capital and technology would boost growth in defence sector.
M4: tell me about international banks. Difference between world bank and IMF. New bank that is launched. Member nations.
Me : told .Didn't knew the exact difference of IMF and world bank so fumbled there.
M1 : tell me about fdi and fii. Which one is better for an economy?
Me: at that time I don't know what happened I could not even remember what was fii, I Knew it was foreign investor but I couldn't remember the word institutional. So again I made a fool out of myself. The panel was very friendly, m1 was even waiting for my answer, as if he was expecting me to know the answer,obviously everyone is supposed to know,I really don't know what happened in there, after I was out of the room I felt like kicking myself.
So the overall was amazing. I have heard quite a few people complain that sbi grills you in the interview, the document verification process is torturing with sbi officials barking at you and making a fuss of even small things, but I didn't feel anything like that, instead they were really very helpful and supportive. The interview panel were amazing, it was as if I were among a group of old people who were just there to know me. So I would say be relaxed during the interview and don't take any preconceived notion with yourself, just adapt to the surrounding !
P.S : make sure you have printed your biodata form single sided,it is very important.

To all those done with the interview, esp guys in Kolkata, @rupamec13 ; are we allowed to carry our original certificates for extra curricular activities and achievements inside the interview room ?
